I still don't get all the furry hate. I find most of the art rather repellant, especially when it's mixed in with stuff from my fetish subcultures, but I just don't look at it and don't obsess over how OMG DISGUSTING it is.

I don't think anyone's obsessing over the sheer weirdness of the furry fandom, but I think the fandom does get a lot of flak because a) it usually involves ogling creatures that aren't human; b) it's partly responsible for Rule 34, especially for stuff like Sonic and Rescue Rangers; and b) the fandom has an alarming tendency to overlap with other less savory fetishes like inflation, infantilism, vore, etc—Delcat actually mentioned an interesting theory on that in another thread. Even if it isn't in the majority, it still exists, and it's pretty easy to find on the Internet.

And whatever floats your boat, but willfully prancing around in a fursuit in any public place that isn't a sports stadium or a fast food joint opens you up to any and all ridicule.

My biggest problem with furrydom is that it not only attracts, but tolerates, dogfuckers and horse-husbands. My second biggest problem with it is that the batshittery emanating from it, in the forms of guides on how best to fuck your dog, martyr complexes the size of Leinster, and reams of drama, ruins it for all the people who use animal avatars, draw talking animal comics, or use an animal-related handle.

It's not that people think that it's gross, it's just that furries are the biggest bunch of dramawhores and wankers that have a 50 mile aura of unpleasentness to them. If you dare to give them any sort of concrit about their artwork, they will blieve the only reason you are "picking on them" is because they are a furry. Many of the drama queen from Deviantart are furries of various stags of sunking into that fur covered cess pool. Some go as far as to sank as low as fucking animals. The largest beastility forum has over 500,000 members. You have to some massive brain damge if you're not utterly disgusted by someone who would get off from watching a human fuck a horse, or fuck one themselves.

Of course; but that's certainly not furries in general. I mean, aside from on ED, I've never actually seen any like this - and considering that I'm a part of 'less-savory' communities such as vore, I'm sure that means something.

As for the drama thing, I understand, but it still doesn't bother me all that much. I guess it's just too ridiculous for me to invest any real thought or concern into.

Bestiality is disgusting and all, but I don't think most people who draw anthropomorphic animals are actually into it.
