I can't stand Katy Perry or any of her songs. I also think that song came across as too LOLOLOL GIRLONGIRL, but that's not the main reason I dislike the song or the rest of her music. I think her it is crap.

Ooooh right. That one. Yeah, after that particular verse, I sort of want to sit down with a cup of tea with that guy, look him in the eye, and say, "Dude, she sounds kinda like a douche bag. Which is no fault of yours, but hey, if she's a douche, you should probably dump her. Just sayin'."
Maybe you were thinking of "Leave The Light On". That's David Cook. And yes. He is equally whney. David Archuleta WOZ R0BBED!!1!!!11!!!!

"Don't Trust Me" is one of the most vile songs I have ever heard in my entire life, and worst of all I know all the lyrics and it's insanely catchy. Some of my friends still like it, but I think having a female in our group has diminished some of the rampant oblivious misogyny.

Well, one name really stands out to me when it comes to why anyone would give this artist a contract. That's Bob Offenberg, a.k.a. Zanger Bob. He reminds me a lot of that kid in school everyone used to beat up after class.
Bob... you are not a mack daddy. GET OVER IT.
Something a bit more recent but not any better.
A nice Christmasy thing for you. Might be the wrong time of year in the northern hemisphere for this one, but it's still bad.

Markie's Diary. Roughly nine thousand times better if you picture Freddie the Flying Fetus from Bob the Angry Flower really hamming it up at the mic. This also has a disturbing tendency to come up on my Winamp shuffle when I'm reading badfic quotes, so it's topical!
And on the subject of Christmas and self-righteous fundies, those FUCKING Christmas Shoes. Dubbed the #1 Disturbing and Inescapable Christmas Song by the Nostalgia Chick and the #1 most depressing song by Tom Reynolds in I Hate Myself and Want to Die: The 52 Most Depressing Songs You've Ever Heard, this song is a perfect storm of smarmy agony.

Yeah, I want to apologize for 3OH3. My state has produced some OK bands recently, but they aren't exactly in that category. BUT, they did come from hippy-ville Boulder so that likely has something to do with it.
I've also heard that the Helen Keller is a dance, but I don't know that for certain. It also doesn't make the line any better.
I'm always at a loss as to WHY "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time" was recorded. I don't like Christmas music to begin with, but this song just takes the cake. It's the most bubbly piece of crap I have EVER heard.

Oh hey, other Coloradoan! *waves*
Also coming from Boulder would usually mean less conservative and misogynistic.

*Waves back!* I do so miss the state when I'm at school. There are no mountains in Illinois...
That is true, but maybe they decided that they needed to rebel and the only way to do that was to become what they are.
Or maybe they're just utter assholes. Either or.

That one I have heard, it's the one about his brother who passed away from a brain tumor. And I don't like it because every time I hear it, I want to cry. I don't like depressing music, I don't need to hear it while I'm trying to work.
There's also this other song, by some woman, where part of it she sings "blame it on me, blame it on you" or something to that effect. And she's just HORRIBLE!

Much as I hate Ryhanna and hope she would fall on her fucking UMBRELLA, the most annoying song has got to Great DJ with "imagine the girls, ah ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah and the boys, ah ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah and the strings eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee and the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums."
I'd rather imagine the gore, ah ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah and the blood, ah ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah and the killing spree, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee with the guns, the guns, the guns, the guns, the guns, the guns, the guns, the guns, the guns, the guns, the guns, the guns.
Because, y'know, of this song, this song, this song, this song, this song, this song, this song, this song.

Is that The Ting Tings? That other song they have irritates me to the same magnitude, and I get it stuck in my head every time I hear the name "Stacey" now.

You mean, "That's Not My Name"?
I figured out who does that song in my previous entry before my thread bumpage, and it's "Blame It On Me" by some chick named Chrisette Michele. How in the name of Vulcan logic did she get signed? Her voice is the equivalent of a gopher caught in a lawn-mower. :headshot:
And how about "Nothing Sweet About Me" by Gabrielle Cilco or however you spell her name? Seems she can't carry a tune in a bucket to save her life either.
Where do these seamingly tone-deaf record execs find these people?!

I don't know. I liked her album alright.
But then, my tastes are not everybody's. I'm cool with that.
The song that has been driving me up the wall is 311's "Hey You". This has nothing to do with stupid lyrics and rhyming arrangement, my normal irk, and everything to do with 311. Strictly speaking, I hate them. I've hated them since they wrote that gawdawful "Amber" song. The singer cannot sing. He just speaks in tune with the words, and he has the most nasally, smokey sound to his voice.
I feel this is more of a "Why Was This Band Signed" though.
You like Katy Perry and you hate 311. You're right, you do have shit taste in music.

Also in my defense, I do like quality music too. (311 stills sucks though, and nothing you say will change my mind) (Do you know how much they played that gawddamn "Amber" song in Hawaii when it came out?)

Just so we're clear, they also re-made "Lovesong" by The Cure, right?

Misheard lyric alert. I thought that song went "Goodbye, Mr Rape."
I think the same band did a song where the chorus went "I'm seriously worried about rape", as well. Again, I think I was hearing rape where there was none.

Just when I had forgotten all about it, it comes back to haunt me. "Better In Time" by Leona Lewis. Geez Louise woman! Will you quit caterwauling?!:hair: You sound like someone is strangling a cat! As if "Bleeding Love" bad enough!
Then there's that third song of hers, I think it's "Forgive Me", but I'm not sure. Come on Leona! Sing something that isn't going to make you cry, because you're making ME miserable!
