I don't know how this "song" got off the drawing board, let alone even recorded, because it is total SHIT! It's "lyrics" consist of nothing more than "Ooh-woo-ooh-woo-ooh-ooh-woo", and a guy saying "Barbra Streisand", over and over and OVER again.
I guess creativity really has become a lost concept if shit like this is now acceptable.
IIRC it came out when music hit a particularly low point; around the same time as "Like a G6," Kesha's shit, and so on.

We've gone downhill from there.
Now it's complete shit that isn't even catchy.

Anything on Abercrombie and Fitch's playlist.
I honestly don't understand why a company trying to give off a 'casually luxurious' feel (which they are, it's in their mission statement) has to play the worst club-crawl music in the world in their stores.

Casually luxurious?
"HAY, but this t-shirt! It's casual because it's a crappy little T-Shirt, and it's luxurious because it's $50!"

As much as I hate to defend them in the least (I'm an employee there), all of the clothes I've bought from them have lasted for years, which is more than I can say about, say, American Eagle or H&M, which begin to fall apart and lose their shape as soon as you take them off the rack.
AE's jeans are absurdly comfortable, though, I'll give them that.

it's almost like lyrics are not considered important in music made almost entirely for dancing

Pretty much this. Pop music and dance music intersect, but one is not necessarily the other. Songs with minimal lyrics and lots of sampling are judged on their rhythm, melody, dancability, etc. It's like complaining that anime art isn't realistic enough. Yes, there's crap anime, but the very nature of being anime doesn't make it bad.
If you want bad dance music, try this:
Compare with the alex metric remix of lisztomania:

I don't know if Ben E. King is still alive. If he is, I wonder what he would say about this horrible use of his classic "Stand by Me". Half the time, Sean Kingston whines "SUICIDAL!" throughout the track. I can think of a better word: Homicidal. As in this song makes me homicidal.
Have you heard Bayside's cover of it? [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
It is one of my all-time favorite songs ^.^
That is actually a pretty decent cover song. Especially seeing what they had to work with in the first place.

Ugh. I was in a store earlier today and that whiney "Soulmate" song by Natasha Beddingfield reared its ugly head. I thought that whiney shit was all but forgotten about. Guess not.

Why do all these bad songs that I thought had had their fifteen minutes keep coming back to haunt me?
Like "Lips of an Angel" by Hinder. UGH! And even that other song by them, the name of it escapes me at the moment.
And "Hero" by Enrique Iglesias. Double UGH!! Go away!
Oh! I almost forgot! That one by Buckcherry that goes, "Please don't go away! You're making a mistake!"
I just want to borrow Bazooka's bazooka, and blow up the stereo system.

Puh-leeze. If you aren't having occasional nightmares about this song or this song or this song or really, the fact that the Pussycat Dolls happened and we let them happen, you aren't yet on my level.
PS: Other songs my Hinder include Get Stoned, How Long, and All American Nightmare.
PPS: OH GAWD WHY DID WE LET THE PUSSYCAT DOLLS HAPPEN? May God and our children forgive us.

Oh no? And how about One Direction? Stupid boy band put together by one of those "reality" shows and all of a sudden, everyone is having a massive fan-gasm. This is the third time I have to live through another wave of hysteria over these types of idiots.

Boy bands come and go. The only reason you hear so much about this one is that one of them dated Taylor Swift.

Wasn't there another boy band that was put together via reality show back in the early '00's? The fuck were they called??

And you know, it would've been just cheery-sappy pop, and harmless enough, if it weren't for one repeated line that throws it straight into the garbage can.
