Slim, I have a pun-based webcomic (currently on indefinite hiatus) too. Don't kid yourself, hon. They give some people a cheap laugh but they're not high art/literature and never will be. Accept it. If you're getting published in print and making some actual money, good for you, but that doesn't mean that you're the next Leonardo. It just means you're popular, and popularity has no correlation to quality.

You really should take on board the criticism you're getting here. It's hard to hear it, especially when you've put so much effort and time and love into your work, but trust me, you'll be better for it. At least take it with good grace, even if you disregard it completely, because right now you look like an arrogant douche.
