Which would be more cruel: This, or exaggerating some feature that isn't actually noticeable? If I were a caricature artist, I'd totally use the power to make people think they had huge noses or something and everyone was too polite to say anything. Madness would ensue.

But yeah that's pretty bad man

I am a caricature artist (who just got my old job at the park back yaaaay), and that pretty much sums up how I work. Caricatures aren't supposed to be flattering, they're supposed to be funny, and there's a surprising amount of customers who fail to grasp this very concept, which results in some madness that is both hilarious and frustrating.

Here's some of the wilder examples done by one of my supervisors.

So yeah, I've seen less flattering caricatures than the one in the OP, so I'm just mostly fixated on the wonkiness of that artist's not-yet realistic but not-yet-stylized approach.

The real thing is that you're an idiot if you think getting a caricature done for a small child who can't understand the satire is a good idea, especially if your child already has a...sensitive feature.

Being funny - and it's debatable in this case - does not mean someone isn't an arsehole.

I saw the title of this topic and I automatically thought, "Who the hell isn't?"

Well, I can understand why the girl isn't smiling.
However, I have to give this one a meh. Fat fetish art was all over GAFF.

That poor girl. Just because she didn't fit the MALE artists narrow perspective of beauty, she was viciously and spitefully slandered.
