By the way am I the only one who noticed that the pirate that Toby cut with the cutlass, who supposedly stayed in the room with Toby, Rory, and Amy had disappeared by the next time we went back? The other left the room and we saw him disappear but not this guy. He just appeared with the rest of the crew at the end of the episode. Did the Siren somehow get him but decide to ignore Toby and Rory? Just a massive plot hole there.
- Spoiler:
Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that. Wow, that really is a massive oversight by the writing crew.
- Spoiler:
Also, just who the heck is that lady in the windows? She looks a little like River, doesn't she or is it just me? Still, I reckon she's a midwife of some kind.

The dread pirates in space!
Okay, I will admit to loving this on a purely stupid level of fangirlishness. - Spoiler:
She does kind of look like River, except for the eye-thingy.

Okay, my idiot son erased the episode before I got a chance to watch it again. But in the final scene, when the Doctor was looking at the scanner, am I the only person who saw what were obviously sonograms of a fetus? Does this mean Amy IS pregnant and lying about it? Since I'm almost positive the little girl from the Season opener that was being controlled by The Silence was Amy's daughter, did the fact they shifted from the present to the past someone cause the kid to be born before she was conceived? I'm so confused!

That was actually at the end of episodes two and three and really, she may not even know. This thing is throwing off the TARDIS's scanners, and I am assuming that it is part Silence, since the machine is "forgetting" the results as the scan goes around different parts of her body. It also wasn't a sonogram, but a full body scan. I'm fairly certain the screen said as much, but I will have to double check that later.

| Wow. That episode started off really scary and weird and ended out really sweet and heartwarming.
I will admit, however, that I am very disappointed that this was not the beginning of some epic return-of-the-Time-Lords arc.

| They spend two whole episodes establishing that the Flesh!People are people in every way, shape, and form. That they are valuable and worthwhile individuals and that being afraid of them/killing them/declaring war on them/so on is a bad thing because of this. And then, at the end of the episode, the Doctor casually murders Flesh!Amy. x 1,000,000,000 There had better be a really compelling reason why that was necessary. Really, really stupendously compelling. | |

There had better be a really compelling reason why that was necessary. Really, really stupendously compelling. Erm, not exactly. Ya see, what the doctor did was unplug amy from her flesh copy by causing it to revert to it's orginal flesh state. They make this fact very clear in the confidentail episode on BBC3 right after. And if that ain't enough for you think of it this way the flesh that made up clone amy isn't dead as it's just it's goop again, and also never actual gained indepedent sentience from amy, like the gangers in the episode quite obviously did. So yeah, suck it up, you're over thinking it.

| Yeah, he just blocked the signal, he did say that was what he was needing to do after seeing it in the early state.
Also, did anybody else see the two Jennifers and Rory and think "Whoohoo! OOC threesome!"

Anything they want made clear should be made clear in the episode. - Somath Cegem wrote:

Except that the gangers in the episode remembered their previous existences. They remembered their previous deaths. The Flesh, itself, was clearly defined as alive when Flesh!Doctor had his little "Eyes! Why!" freak-out session. And all those melty Jennifers that were never made "alive" by lightning were still alive and dying and suffering and we were meant to sympathize with them and feel that this was wrong.
Basically, the episodes clearly established any gangers of any description as people.
- Spoiler:
And then the Doctor killed Amy's.

Think back the the first episode of the two parter, think back to when we have the working crew talking about what it's like to be in their gangers, and how werid it is to die while in them and how they remember each and every death right up until the last second. Now recall that the gangers ripped free from the controlers got there memories from their counterparts, where do you think they get the memories of the deaths from? Also recall that what Ganger Doctor and Chief gladly did to themselves instead of blowing up in an attempted to retain at least a part of themselves. It's oddly similar to what the The doctor did to amy's ganger don't you think? Also there is a big difference between, using the flesh as a get out of death free card or just leaving the unplugged gangers in a big heap to rot and (this being what el doctor did, reverting it it's original state where it is still very much alive it just doesn't have the brain of amy pond living in there as well. ALSO! It's very obvious it's absolutly nessesary to unhook ganger-amy so they can find amy and her soon to be born baby, shunting one life back to it's ooze stage (even then it's quite obvious the Doctor isn't exactly thrilled about doing it), where it's still very alive as we were told many times, in order to save two lives is not that big a leap for the doctor to take is it now?

| For something completely different, I will leave THIS here for all of you to enjoy. By the way, am I the only one who suspects that... - Spoiler:
...the Doctor we saw dying at the beginning of the season may be a Ganger...
...or is that just too much of a stretch?

I still want to know how the Flesh managed to get involved, and when the switchover happened.

Also, that's the River/Amy femslash I was writing ballsed up good and proper. Probably for the best, what with what happened the last times I tried fanfic...

| I did not see that coming. I really, REALLY did not see that coming. At all. AND IT WAS AWESOME. I was honestly afraid that River would turn out to be Creepy One-Eyed Lady (what was her name again?) - Spoiler:
So River Song is Melody Pond, who's a Time Lady(-ish, kinda)... but what did she do to get locked up?
Not that it's not hilarious to see how desensitized they've become to her breaking out and back in again.
I kind of want to go back and watch the episodes where the Ponds and River interract, just to scour for clues or hints.
OH OH, and what's Amy going to think about the Doctor makin' out with her daughter?
Also: "Let's Kill Hitler". That cracked me up for some reason.
