This isn't science. This is philosophy. You can't prove or disprove the existence of a god or gods; you have to come to your own conclusions, and then have the self-control not to force them on others.

I didn't say "Every organic chemical is made of all three of those elements" or "Those three elements are the only ones involved with life" either.

Whether your an agnostic, an atheist, or a believer, I'm hoping we can all agree that what was done to these children was horrific and shouldn't have happened. Unfortunately, it did, and all the haggling over whether or not there is a god won't make a lick of difference. The point is making those who committed these crimes admit their guilt and accept the consequences of their actions. And that involves everyone from the parish priests who did the molesting all the way up to the Pope himself, who almost certainly knew what was going on and helped in the cover-up. If we accept any less than that, I'm afraid we've gone beyond apathetic and straight into sociopath.

I could also argue that if I had trouble remembering the composition of water, ammonia, and elemental sulphur, that's INorganic chemistry I'd have to retake - two can play at this game.
