Ultraorthodox Jews pull a Godwin upon themselves

So a couple days ago a 7-years old girl was spat upon and called a slut on the way back from school. Afghanistan? No, Israel.
Well you could tell it's not Afghanistan as most of the population was in an uproar. In an unrelated incident, an ultraorthodox father of 12 had an argument with a female soldier who had refused to sit in the back row of the bus. That's where women should sit, according to ancient Jewish custom, but not to the State law. Since Israelis cultivate a healthy attitude towards the people in bug-green responsible for their survival, the various ultraorthodox communities have been taking some flak.
So how do they make their point? How do they show that in the whole affair they are not being the oppressor but the oppressed?

I don't even. Eating kosher and not touching your wife for two weeks a month? Do what you like with your own fucking life. Slap a girl in the street because you saw half a wrist? Well you're entitled to it, only don't be surprised when her relatives read two chapters futher in the Deyter Dueter Dietr Bible and show up for some good old fashioned stoning. Assume that Tsa'hal, who is the only thing that stands between you and a hundred thousand angry Palestinians, has to put up with your 1000 BC shit (which, by the by, makes you exempted from draft)? Well you must have big bronze ones since they usually carry their Uzis at all times... or small soft ones because they're trained on when not to use them.
Now, this Holocaust on floaters because you've gotten called upon your shit by your very own people not only is Godwin right from the start, it's dividing by zero because other Jews not only are a goup that doesn't feel a wee bit guilty about that bad stuff that happened in Berlin around 1940. They're a group that will feel mightily pissed, especially the ones who had to wear the actual items and happen to be still alive, for the inconvenience of those who would like to borrow their victimy-ness for just the time of a stroll in front of the cameras. (By the by, don't photograph orthodox Jews no matter how strange their hat, they might hit you. Unless they're protesting and wearing striped pajamas).

I wish all religions would make their crazies wear strange hats; the more batshit their views, the larger and weirder the headgear. Make their avatars wear funny hats too, so you can avoid them on the internet as well.

What makes this even more WTF is that I'm pretty sure that neither ancient Jews nor any other ancient peoples had any customs regarding bus seating, largely because buses hadn't been invented yet.

A fundie is a fundie is a fundie. It doesn't matter what they claim to believe; their one true doctrine is the wickedness of outsiders and their litany is spite and spittle.

I've been living in Jerusalem for most of my life and I just wonder why it took people so long to notice this is happening and it's total bullshit.

The serious version. From what I've read on the paper, the phenomenon was confined to small communities where orthodox Jews are preminent. Then again, I only saw Tel Aviv. Such communities may make up for the remaining 95% of Israel for all I know.
It made the news here when the 7-years-old girl was spat upon, and the newspaper dusted off Hillary Clinton's remarks about how "[Jerusalem]seems like Tehran". I was following that story when the Godwin Pride took place.

Yours is only country in the area in which the US won't operate a change of management if the dishrag-wearing fundies really make it to the control room. Whether this is bad news or good news I leave it to you.

Here's the thing, they pull Godwins on themselves every other Sabbath. That they used holocaust imagery is disgusting as all fuck, but it's not new. It's just that people started noticing that it's gone far beyond the flimsy disputed borders of Jerusalem and Beit Shemesh, and now they're all terrified the ultraorthodox Jews will flow over and take over more secular cities like Tel Aviv and Haifa.

It's been happening for years. It's just taken people ages to realize they can protest shit like that.

Of course the government isn't going to do shit about it because there are too many fundies in the coalition and Netanyahu is a fart who only cares about staying in power and zigzags all over the place to please everyone, to the point where no one is pleased anymore.

It's not a Godwin unless you mention Hitler to win an argument.

BBC mentioned that the ultraorthadox are about 10% of pop. but have a very high comparitive birth rate so will double in ten years or so. It sounds like if things are getting bad now from fundamentalism they could get worse for the majority Israeli population. Hope somebody on the moderate side comes up with a solution!

My personal solution is wait till I have enough resources to move the fuck out of here or wait for the apocalypse to wipe us all out, whichever comes first.
