BARACK Obama's "four more years'' victory tweet may have become the most retweeted message of all time, but last night one American teenager's misguided views on Australia were lighting up the twittersphere down under.

Clearly disappointed with the election result, 18-year-old Georgia republican Kristen Neel joined the throngs of American Twitter users claiming they were moving to Australia to escape Obama's presidency.

Unfortunately, she got a few facts wrong.

"I'm moving to Australia, because their president is a Christian and actually supports what he says,'' she tweeted.

This is why I hate the majority of Americans. Not only are they rude, but ignorant and stupid as all hell. I like how Kristen Neel ragequit Twitter after being called out on her stupidity.

I really don't get this "WAAAHHH I'M MOVING" bullshit either. I was upset when the Coalition won the NSW state election, but I didn't threaten to move to Queensland or Victoria.

For those Americans on WGW, here are some facts that I urge you to share with Republicans you know:



Australia is not a republic, we are a constitutional monarchy ruled by the Queen of England via the Governor-General of Australia. The head of government is the Prime Minister, we don't have a president. There is a president of the Senate, but they only oversee Senate proceedings.

The current Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, is not only a woman, but also an atheist living with a man she has never married. However, the Opposition Leader, Tony Abbott, is a male Christian. GOP supporters would like him, he has been known to demonstrate fundamentalist and misogynist tendencies. Both Gillard and Abbott are lying assholes.

Australia has been a socialist country (more or less) since the 1970s. We have universal healthcare, gun control, free abortions, compulsory voting and limited free speech. We also have a generous welfare system which does not require a lawyer to navigate, fierce industry regulation and public schools which teach evolution and don't require summer school to get a passing grade. Also, prostitution is legal.

The capital is Canberra, not Sydney or Melbourne. (Though, Melbourne WAS the ad hoc capital before Canberra was designed and built.)

Actually, we've had a good many people in America who are threatening to move somewhere else via twitter, on Facebook and other places. And they're adults. Stupid is just stupid, no matter what the person's age.

Also, the vast majority of them know nothing about the countries they were planning on moving to. A good many were going to go to Canada, till they found out they have socialized medicine.

The REALLY batshit crazy ones are the ones who are moving into the mountains with all their guns and a two to four year supply of freeze-dried food. I was going to say (before Rabid Badger beat me to it) that I was simply impressed that she didn't claim she was moving to Canada, which not only has universal health care but same sex marriage throughout the entire country.
