Poor Oppressed White Guy? Again, claim I never made. What I said (or at least what I thought I said) was that the way to achieve equality is to treat everyone in exactly the same manner and remove as many barriers that put groups at a disadvantage as possible.

I also pointed out that affirmative action doesn't do that. Yeah, sure, it helps some people get round barriers, but the barriers still exist.

ETA: I also seem to recall saying that racism is purely about prejudice and that forgetting this can lead to racist beliefs going unchallenged.

I saw the map in question just a few minutes ago..."Depressed" doesn't begin to cover how I feel. Not only are there five hate groups in New Hampshire, but my own state of Masschusetts is home to ten. Plus there are two in Rhode Island, two more in Maine, three in Vermont, and six in Connecticut. That means there are a grand total of twenty-eight hate organizations operating in my neck of the woods. Makes me absolutely goddamn sick.
