NaNoWriMo 2010

So, who's feeling like a glutton for punishment this year? I'm considering it, and I'll probably attempt to write a novel in which absolutely nothing happens.

I haven't done NaNoWriMo since '08, but I'm definitely onboard for this year. I'm taking the opportunity to try out a new genre for me . . . paranormal romance. (Feel free to laugh now.) Now that I'm out of college my schedule is a little looser, so I'm actually looking forward to it.

^No laughter here. I'm kind of a sucker for it. (But picky about it as well, so it's not like I get a lot to read...)

I've tried Nano once and failed, planned it once and didn't bother, and this year, I think I want to just pick one of my unfinished pieces and grind it out. I'm excited. (I'm gonna write a story about a dhampir!)

I have an idea for another Ace Attorney mysteryfic, so I might attempt it for NaNo this year. I'm not 100% decided as to whether I actually will or not yet.

Yeah, another potential Ace Attorney fic here. Hopefully I can get my plot threads to coalesce before November.

I'm signed up and ready. Hurry up and end, October!

I'm in, too. I'll be writing a Kaiketsu Zorro story about a minor character who had way more potential than he was given. I usually write about villains, so it's going to be fun to see what I can do with a flawed good guy.

I may take a shot at it; hell, I'm already over-committed enough, what's one more project?


That said, I'm still looking for a good plot idea. Everything I write always trends towards "it got worse" really fast, and get increasingly hard to write as a result.

I'm thinking my Dragons In Charge Generic Fantasyland might be the best thing here.

You and me both. The only real idea I have as of yet is a total ripoff of Army of Two where the protagonists are actually gay. While I can probably get something at least vaguely entertaining out of this, if it's the best idea I have, I'm probably in trouble.

I'm probably not doing NaNo this year. I've got loads of ideas, but I'm actually working on setting up a webcomic, so all my creative efforts are going in that direction. Between that and school, I just don't have the time ahh.

Totally doing it this year. Have a basic premise, but we'll see what kind of story it develops into.

In that case, I am finally going to exorcize that 'Zuko-as-magitek-zombie' plotbunny that has been haunting my brain for so long!

This is the third time I'm entering, I think, but this is the first time I'll do it with my own original story rather than fanfic. I'm writing a children's novel about tiny rainbow-winged people that harvest humans' dreams. Should be fun.

I think I'm actually going to be doing it this year. I mean, I do have a lot of time on my hands, so I might as well do something a bit constructive. Crap.

Yeah, this is the seventh year that I'll be participating in NaNo. At first, I was just going to ignore the impending doom until midnight on the first and write whatever scenario pops up, but I think I've decided on writing out the novelization of a graphic novel that's been building in my head for a while. It's either going to end up a fantasy young adult novel with lesbians or something with tons of smut. It depends on my mood, I guess.

Ok, so I WILL be participating this year. Thanks to the boyfriend, I've a really great idea, and a theme, mood, and protagonist picked out already. Need me some conflicts and a resolution, but it's got like a huge metaphor and like... yeah, this will either be some really pretentious bullshit, or kinda deep. But maybe funny. Hopefully not unintentionally funny.

Likely, it'll be pretentious bullshit. But I'm in.

That's uncanny. My idea for NaNo has as protagonist a former divine trickster who got kicked out of heaven for being too much of a jackass.

Gonna give it a try for the first time this year. Why the hell not. A good friend of mine is in on it, so we can be insomniacs together.

As for the quality of the story? Well.
I never enjoy, identify with, or get into much of anything that's mainstream, so needless to say, hardly anyone will every enjoy, identify with, or get into much of anything I produce. lmfao.

I'm doing it this year. Had the idea of showing all the slash fangirls how to do an arranged marriage between two guys without it being crap. So yeah, my idea IS crap but it's the best thing I have do far.
