I came here in part because Alhazred dragged me into GAFF-diving many times when this place was still GAFF. I saw a place where people took the worst the Internet had to offer and made it something priceless: a close examination of just what can go wrong with a human mind. That is both entertaining and useful; one of the best ways to improve as a person and help to heal as a society is to truly understand what people are thinking when they do disturbing and stupid things, so that we can control the damage of simple human folly. Artistry, particularly storytelling, is one of the main ways in which we do this, and debugging the stories that are told, the original core concept of this community, adds a further layer of sanity checking. The process also happens to be hilarious.

That was GAFF, and I came here to be a part of that. Unfortunately, WGW is not GAFF. WGW is a 50/50 mix of boring pantspissers who think berserker rage is a good response to anything five degrees off normative, and boring Internet pervert crazies who have nothing to add to a discussion but the fact that they are perfect examples of their negative stereotypes. The general effect is that this is a sorry substitute for what I came for. You people seem to think you are still the authority on the horrors of the world and the amusing treatment thereof, but you ultimately all come off as sheltered beyond all reason, so stymied in your mode of thought that all you can do when presented with something unusual is to turtle up more.
