Ironically, the spin-off AF2 league is alive and kicking. Some AFL owners have expressed interest in moving to that league in 2010.

This makes me sad. I loved watching Arenaball and am sad to see it go. Maybe the AF2 can bring it back someday?

I only ever saw one AFL game. Some playoff game between teams I can't remember. I didn't like the total lack of defense and rush game.

It was like watching the Colts play the Cardinals. In Indy's little pussy "WE CAN'T DEAL WITH WIND OR TEMPERATURES LESS THAN 60 DEGRESS" dome.

I suspect that except for a handful of guys who manage to latch on to the new UFL, none of the current Arena League personnel will ever set foot on the gridiron again, in or out of doors.

You know, I think this whole story can be summed up in two words:

WHO CARES?

The local area team here, the Dallas Desperados, was a big fat MEH. I saw a game of theirs once - it was like watching a football game from my high school senior year.
We went 3-7 that year, and ended up in the cellar. In four games we had a safety scored on us because someone fumbled a ball out the back of the end zone. In one of those games, it happened TWICE.
