Cops admit missing damning Casey Anthony evidence

That's right, folks: The investigator - explicitly stated to be the computer investigator - checked IE's history, but not Firefox's.

Folks, there is not enough on Earth to express the level of FAIL on display here. Though part of me thinks the Sherrif's Dept. only released this info to try and say "See, we had the right person!" And if that's the case, fail squared, because they're also saying "...And we failed to lock her down because of incompetence."

Le sigh.

It sucks that because of double jeopardy, they can't try her again. Oh well, maybe like O. J., she'll get caught on an unrelated charge and end up doing time anyway.

How did she ever get off in the first place? Are we seriously to believe that Caylee, a two year old, put duct tape over her own mouth, capped with a sticker, then got stuck in a garbage bag, somehow tying it off from inside, before falling into a pool? (For sake of playing devil's advocate, let's ignore any questions from logic or common sense how she would then get out of the pool while dead and still in the bag, wander over to the side of a house and re-die).

Because Anthony claimed her daughter was dead long before they hid the body and the prosecution put very little effort into breaking that story. Weak procecution, plus pretty, sympathetic defendant = acquittal on murder, slap on the wrist for Obstruction.

Sad thing is, this is far from the first time something like this has happened. See also the Karla Homolka case (which was turned into the Law & Order episode "Fools For Love")
