Cocorosie's Japan is a cute little song with such a funky, happy beat that it took me a good ten listens to realize what the hell they're saying in the second verse:

Everyone wants to go to Jamaica Queens in drag will surely fake ya Take you home and then they'll rape you But you like it, so say thank you!
Major "Wait...WHAT?" moment. I love it even more now, though.
I once had that song on repeat without realizing it and got through about 11 renditions of it. Other than that, it's great.

WTF MOMENTS IN MUSIC: AS BROUGHT TO YOU BY MR.DOOBIE:
Did you know?
- Robert Matthew Van Winkle, better known as Vanilla Ice, actually outdid the awfulness that was "Ice, Ice Baby"? As if Mr. Ice couldn't lose any more credibility in the music community, he spent the remainder of his career making nu metal, inspired by bands like Korn and Limp Bizkit. I shit you not.
I've also heard he's featured Insane Clown Posse on at least one of his songs. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
- Speaking of WTF moments in rap, I've heard rumors about a rap song featuring guest MCing from Stephen Hawking.
Nao you know!

"Other than that"? I do that on purpose, man.

This was probably a WTF moment for a lot of people...
Elton John and Eminem performing Stan, back at the height of the "ZOMG HOMOPHOBE!" accusations being slung at Eminem.

My sister used to listen a lot to a Swedish band called The Ark, and most of their songs sound like random sentences just strung together. My favorite is Hey Modern Days because the refrain is one long WTF moment.
Quote :
'Cos it's a scam, it's a royal kind of wham-bam figure It's abrieved in the sense of being up-john and senseless It's a see-saw sickness, it's a snake-bite, low-chant jive on the century's crime
And no, the main lyrics doesn't help it make sense either.
Quote :
Hey modern days, we're taken a-back We're a flame and a-gog, aloof and inhaled with a don-don briefcase, oh, wait for our call And I therefore shall declare that the stores shall be locked no more (no more), no more, (no more)
Why shall men suffer, why shall there be freaks? Why am I still rehearsing a song when I oughta sleep?
'Cos it's a scam...
Well, maybe that thing about him needing to sleep add some idea about why it's so weird.

I remember the first time I paid attention to Dio's Holy Diver and this leaped out at me:
Quote :
Ride the tiger You can see his stripes but you know he's clean Oh don't you see what I mean?
To which the only answer is no. No, I have no fucking clue what you mean. This one part annoys me so much now that I can't listen to the song without feeling frustrated.
Supposedly it's about a former heroin addict, falling back of the wagon and using again. You can see the track marks/scars on his arms, but you know he hasn't used in a while. The 'tiger' supposedly being the drug itself, and 'riding it' getting high.
Ballroom Blitz. All of it. People are dancing, and there's a vampire who tells people to start killing each other, and they do? WTF?

Almost every song by the Sweet was utter bubblegum nonsense.
The only one with any real meaning I can think of if "Fox on the Run", and I think that one's about teenage groupies. Or something.

The Bloodhound Gang song strangely reminds me of What What (In The Butt) by Samwell.
Dio is one of many Power/Folk/Epic/Fantasy Metal bands that have mind-boggling lyrics. I have to admit, I love listening to those cheesy nonsensical lyrics.
Although I love her music, Björk writes some weird shit. I still wish I were that piece of melon.
For anyone who can speak a second language: translating songs like Hotel California from English to whatever will give ridiculous results.
