SLOWPOKE NEWS: J. Jonah. Jameson is NOT in the new Spider-Man movie

Maybe after all these years, he's finally retired.

Or been fired.

My thoughts exactly. Spider-Man without J. Jonah is like Batman without the Joker.

This doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

From what it seems, this movie is going to focus on the high school years, and if I remember correctly, Peter doesn't start working at the Bugle until college.

Thus, Jameson? Not needed. At all.

Unless you want them to be like the last three Spider Man movies and X-Men 3, where they throw in armies of pointless cameos of characters that were only marginally significant just so they can say "Yay! We managed to force in another character who is only marginally significant (with all the subtlety and grace of a wart hog on stilts)."

It's true though. He's not really worth much. Especially if Peter's not even working at the Bugle.

The movie's going to suck anyway.

Peter starts working at the Bugle mere days after officially becoming Spider-Man. The only Spidey character that's been around longer than JJJ is Aunt May.

This is like remaking Superman (again) and leaving out Perry White.

Perry White is Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Planet, aka Superman's boss.

In the same way J. Jonah Jameson wasn't vital to the plot of Spiderman.

Or, more accurately, he may not be vital to the plot of the story this movie is presenting, and I say if they're cutting him, all the more power to them. It's about time a Marvel movie showed some restraint and cut a little bit of the fat, for chrissakes.

JJJ has always been one of Spiderman's chief antagonists. He is notably the only one that antagonizes both of Peter's identities.

Yet, so are the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and Venom, and you don't need to introduce them all at once.

Wonder if they will use a replacement character for the Bugle's Editor and chief.
