I think it's all an act, part of the show. The "Welcome to the black parade" video isn't all that serious, and even though the song is about death, the lyrics ("we'll carry on") are pretty upbeat.
Like I said, it's not their fault some of their fans suck. Like the football teams aren't responsible for the hooligans.
