The whole fucking thing is depressing.

How could the defense attorney claim "Oh he just veered out of control" WHEN THE FUCKER RAN HER OVER AFTER KNOCKING HER ONTO THE MEDIAN?!

Because she's the defense attorney. That's her job. "Here's why you shouldn't convict my client." The prosecutor's is to give the reasons to convict. The jury's is to decide if, after hearing the defense, they still believe the prosecutor's story beyond a reasonable doubt. In this case, they did. They decided the defense story wasn't credible, and they convicted. That's how the system works.

Everyone is entitled to a legal defense, no matter how absurd that defense has to be.
