On the contrary, I like Linkin Park. I wasn't too impressed with their album, by the way. I didn't feel the same energy as from their previous albums. But I might go back and BitTorrent the album and have another listen.

You hear one gangsta rap song, you've pretty much heard them all. I honestly don't find the appeal of it. It may be my disdain for the fucker who puts it on and cranks it to 11, or it could be the fact I'm just not impressed with it.
I dunno, I don't like rap, that's all I'm gonna say.

Obviously, The Ian, has never read about the women who got a 1 million dollar fine for pirating. Listen to some of their songs on Youtube, for fuck sakes. No doubt they have VEVO channel.

On a serious note and setting aside the forum-wide bashing for my own admitted ignorance, I'm going to bring the thread back on topic.
OK, I remember back in Second, third maybe? Yeah, Third Grade, when the teacher would put on this slow easy listening jazz clarinet/saxophone, I'm fairly certain Kenny G while we worked on our own. I remember trying my damnedest not to doze off because the music was just going on and on, and it was boring.
With those thoughts out of the way, we now return you to your regularly scheduled Ian-bashing, already in progress.

Slow jazz was designed to be a lullaby. I used to put it on when as a child to help me sleep.

That would explain it. In that case, not the ebst choice my teacher made, then.

Because the last thing a teacher wants to use as background music in a classroom is something calming and relaxing. Personally, if I was in their shoes I'd play some Post-Progressive JazzCore or Brutal Technical Death Metal.
You know, something that would really set a classroom full of children intending to study on edge.

Considering this thread is about bland and boring songs, not complaining about calm and relaxing music (which is what jazz is supposed to be), I think you should just stop posting, Ian.
Also, stop the victim bullshit.

I like Eminem- he's not your run-of-the-mill gangsta rapper, and he sure knows a lot about rock bottom. Some of his songs kept me truckin' through the darkest spots on the road.

Uhm, well. That song does talk about guns and shooting people.
Arrogant? No. Hateful? A lot of her "revolution" songs are more spiteful than hateful. Violent? She is a fiery lefty that does more or less encourage terrorism.
While she's no worse than the likes of Joe Strummer or Rage Against the Machine, she isn't exactly the person to go to for non-violent, calm rap music.

Even though I do like Eminem, and I do agree that he does know his subject matter, I have to agree with Sheba that sometimes his subject matter does get repetitive.

If there is one thing I despise over everything else, it's working in the mall during Christmas time - if only because of that sort of music. I think I'll be spared the brunt of it this year thanks to my new workplace having a barrier door we close at the end of the day, but while I was working at the bakery after hours it was loud, annoying, and drove me mad. Someone once recommended The Veronicas to me. I must've listened to about five of their songs on YouTube before I realized that they were virtually indistinguishable, not only from one another, but from most generic mainstream American pop songs. I just remember staring at some music video, a standard "my boyfriend broke up with me so I'm going to trash his stuff in revenge, in this case his car" kind of affair and realizing how "meh" the whole thing was. Of course, the comments were all about the beauty and originality of the band's music, making me wonder if these people had never listened to anything else, ever.

I think I have to agree with Penguin when I say, "Uhm, what?"
I don't think any Christmas song can match the Titanic Awfulness of "Christmas Shoes", though.
Also: I was in a store the other day, and they started playing a song that I have not heard since my teenage years working in a small country store. In fact, I had nearly forgotten it had existed.
I went home, and did some quick Google searches, and found the title of the song and the name of the artist that made it...
Listen to the girl squalk, "I THINK ITZ SO GROOVEY NOW THAT PEOPLE ARE FINALLY GETTING TOGETHER!" and tell me you don't want to ram a screwdriver into your ears.

I'm afraid it might just be a soggy letter by the time it gets to me. Although, we could use it. We already have to make our own snow as it is.

As far as I know, the only "Summer Christmas" songs there are... well, there are none really. Only parodies, and those are very far and few between. And we don't decorate with fake snow (I dunno where you'd even buy that stuff", we just go overboard with the tinsel. =/
