Well, J just updated the Marble Hornets twitter, so we know he's not dead.
Yet.

Finally caught up.
In entry 22, when he listed the names of the people who went missing... maybe I misheard, but did he say Jay's name?

There's been some speculation on the forums that Slender Man causes memory loss in those who see him (this is why Jay doesn't remember entry 17 or apparently that he was more involved in the film project than he initially said). If that's true, then Alex doesn't mean Jay is "gone" as in vanished, but "gone" as in under the influence of Slender Man-induced amnesia.

Unscramble those letters, and it becomes "awaiting your arrival."
This could be it.

AGAIN.
But... I would be disappointed if it was the end.
I want someone to be benevolent, either Slenderman or Masky, but I realize how unlikely this is.
I also believe that Masky (who is probably TTA) could be hunting Slendy and not afraid to use J to accomplish this task.

Watched entries 1-22 all in one day, and wow do I love it. One of the best creep factors is just spotting Slender Man in all the videos, just standing there and watching. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I admit to locking my bedroom door and only getting five hours of sleep the night after I watched all of it.

Just watched everything so far. Slender Man is creepy at the beginning but after you get used to him popping up everywhere, he loses his effect. Masked Man rushing at the camera was a good "jump" moment (and so is a lot of the audio distortion) but breaking into the narrator's bedroom just made me think of Edward Cullen. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] The scariest part was when something in the house gives the narrator a nasty coughing fit, that was a great idea.

The one thing I don't get is that Jay's completely silent. Hell, if I were running through a creepy-ass house and saw a masked face peek at me from somewhere, I'd shout something, like 'Hey, you, yeah, you, I saw you, open this fucking door right this minute!' And if I'd suddenly find myself somewhere else than I'd been a few seconds ago, because apparently I BLANKED OUT, I'd moan aloud to myself, and wonder where I was, and what the fuck was happening, and probably something like 'This was a bad idea, I really want to go home now, where's that door...where's that fucking door!'
It seems unnatural to me that Jay only mumbles 'hello?' once, and remains completely dumb the rest of the time.
Still...Hi Slendy! Love your little dolls, honey! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Browsing this place during classes when I couldn't see Youtube videos wasn't a great idea. The next hour or so was spent hurrying to get home.
Spoiler:
I'm going to re-watch it again in a moment [along with the previous two], but what was with the shift to the basement? Was it just J losing track of time, and somebody taking him there? I was kind of disappointed with what was in the rooms; I was expecting a little more blood. And yeah, klaine_kat, I too was wondering what was up with him not talking! The first time I watched it, I could hear something mumble in reply just as J said "Hello?" in my earphones. Gonna check that out too.

I have... the stupidest, most awesome story relating to Marble Hornets. Ever.
So... my group of friends, we're not troublemakers. We don't really party or drink or smoke and if that's your cup of tea, then hey, more power to you in our minds. We're kind of a bunch of goody two-shoes - my friends will deny it, but the worst they do is yell cuss words out the truck window as we drive by unsuspecting pedestrians. The usual.
Anyway - last night, a couple of us were sitting in my friend's room, waiting for the next video to be posted, when we get a knock on the door, and something slips under it. It's a paper cut out and colored to look like the masked man's mask. And it says on it, "Watching you."
I lol pretty hard and go to take it downstairs and slip it under my neighbor's door, because she's more freaked out by MH than I am, and I made her watch all the videos with us. As I walk downstairs, I see something out the stairwell window and almost piss my pants.
A man in a business suit with a face obscured completely by some white cloth is standing in my dorm courtyard. It's at this point I notice all these girls are running around screaming about the crazy man in the courtyard, and I'm like, "Oh. Shit."
I run back upstairs to the boys' hall to tell them what's going on, and they all already know. My friend C is standing there in a suit with the mask in his hand, laughing with a bunch of people about the awesome prank he's just pulled. Apparently, the Slendy I saw in my courtyard wasn't the only one. C and Z had planned it so that Z would stand in the courtyard and when me and my friends went out the back door, they'd see another Slendy (C dressed up) and freak out.
So - this isn't the best part - the whole dorm is WIGGING OUT, thinking there's some sort of criminal in the fucking area. Someone calls Z and tells him the campus police have been called. I start to frantically try to get them to change out of the suits, to get rid of the costume and to act normal because this is serious - of course, no one's listening to the voice of reason (me), and they're all standing there giggling about it, and C says, "Oh man the look on Cpt Viking's face was so funny" and the cop that walked up to the door says, "No, it really wasn't funny."
It was like a goddamn movie, man. Anyway, we got asked like thirty times if we were drunk, to which C replied no thirty times, and insisted that actually, he and Z are just stupid without alcohol, and we got all our IDs taken, and they got lectured on making everyone think there was a rapist in the area.
You know, if I hadn't been afraid my friends were going to get kicked out of the dorm, then it would've been an awesome prank, and this is a fucking awesome story, so I figured I'd post it.
Goddamn, what a night.

Let's not forget that he doesn't even remember anything that happened in the video, which I think is a far more concerning matter than anything else. At this point, it's pretty clear that there's something wrong with him, so perhaps it isn't that farfetched that he doesn't react to such strange crap. Hell, anyone with common sense wouldn't have gone back to that creepy place.
Also, I think it would kind of ruin the atmosphere if he was realistically reacting to everything.
And Inkweaver, that is a pretty damn awesome story even if you guys did get in trouble for it.
EDIT: When he's in the basement area and there's a lot of distortion, a quick image appears and I'm wondering if anyone can deciper what it is.
