You know, I'm not laughing and mocking him because he purchased these things. I'm laughing because he's such a disgusting hypocrite that he condemns others for what he does himself... and what he charges the taxpayer for.

I'm 97% with you... except for one little technical nitpick: everything in a gay sex shop could be used during a hetero romp. I guess, maybe, that gay porn would be a stretch? But who knows, maybe he bought some for the wife. Which would make him pretty GGG.

This is becoming almost a cliche, really. The louder someone squeals about "TEH GAYZ IS EBIL!!!" the more likely it becomes they're in the closet. This comic is four and a half years old and nails it:

Uhh... isn't the whole "gay sex shop" thing a bit of a blind alley?

The important point, surely, is that he claimed a purchase from a sex shop. I don't know much about the politics of my own country, let alone anywhere else, but I'm guessing that purchases from sex shops of any orientation don't qualify as legitimate party/governmental expenditure.

Maybe there was a problem involving the safety of sex toys so the subcommittee that handles that sort of thing in the Alabama legislature voted to appoint a special committee to investigate, and before the special committee could issue any reports, they needed evidence to observe and experts to interview. And let's say the special committee's chairman has a brother in law in the Canadian porno industry (the hottest bear on moose action in the world!) so that's why the floor of the Alabama State Senate was flooded with dildos and Canadian porn stars.

See? There's a perfectly logical explanation for everything if you just discard and semblance of reason and rationality and completely ignore all established facts.

Are sex toys even legal in Alabama? Canada I can understand *coughcoughAggiecoughcough* but this is the US Bible belt we're talking about.

It was more an attempt at failed humour. Annnyway. them bible belts eh? I'm so fucking glad I live in Iowa where at least we're open enough to have sex toy shops... although the middle school I went to had a pretty raunchy toy shop right literally down the street.
