Nah, rivalry doesn't mean he hates you, just that he disagrees with, but still respects you. And you can get into a romance with him anyway. (And, in my opinion, the whole love/hate thing you have going in a rivalmance just makes it hotter.)

Is that so? Cool! Let's see if we can still get us some Fenris! I do like how you can mindfuck him, though, even if it's not really ingame fuckery. You can give him a sword at one point. It is significant for him in that it represents the power of his tattoos and a whole lot of background, so I thought, ok, give him the sword, he'll like it. He just became pissed, claiming I was insulting him.

The Dragon Age 2 community has introduced me to two new words: shameboner and frusterbation. I suspect that the idiot in the original post that was linked to suffered from the former and as a consequence engaged in the latter. My heart bleeds for him, really.

In response to this, I made a male Hawke and gave him a luscious beard, dark skin and green eyes and hooked his ass up with Fenris. The degree of testosterone oozing from the TV as these two wall slammed each other while kissing was mind blowing.

You can't flirt with Anders or Isabella in front of Fenris otherwise it will break his romance. You also have to make sure either the Friendship or Rivalry is high enough and FLIRT with him! My god you have to bend your self over and hand him a bottle of lube for him to get the picture! He is kind of repressed. And make sure that you do all this by the second act other wise you will be suffering from a world class case of blue balls by the time Anders uses his concoction to blow Elthina's mind. Literally.

Curiously, flirting with Sebastian doesn't break anything. So... flirt with him. It's pretty damn funny when you do it as a guy.
