So, you think it's fitting?
Speaking of melodrawhiny announcements: VISUAL STORYTELLING RUINED FOREVER. I dunno-it could be fun if they'd release copies of it with the speech bubbles empty and let you play 'write your own dialogue' Dude, when this comes out we should all erase all the speech balloons and fill in our own stories. It would be epic. XD

| Wh-what.. Twilight graphic novel... (However the prospect of erasing and filling in the empty speech bubbles does sound quite tempting and very fun.) But still, that should not exist. =X | |

| The style is fitting, at least, since the story already plays out like a bad shoujo manga. | |

| I blame Twilight for hitting my lowest point in tech school back at Keesler AFB. This might take some explaining. You see, the funny thing about today's Air Force is that when you go to basic training, it's a lot more combat-oriented than it used to be. A lot more. So when you get off the bus having graduated from BMT, it's like this: NEWLY MINTED AIRMAN: "YEEEEEEEEARGH WHERE'S THE TERRISTS?!" MTL: "Welcome to college. Please put the gun down." AIRMAN: "...what?" So you have this exceedingly awkward paradigm shift from high-stress "here's what an IED looks like, it is probably going to kill you at some point in your career" to a long, boring inprocessing week and then you learn electronic principles, which is extremely dry, and even more boring. So you look for things to do with your newfound free time. It was at this point that I found out that my classmates were reading really shitty books. Avidly. Books by Goodkind, Hamilton and Meyer. And the one they were all talking about, since the movie was about to come out, was Twilight. "What, you mean the same Twilight with Edward the Mormon Sparkle Vampire?" "Dude Edward is badass! He can blah blah blah de blah..." "Oh God. Oh my God." "What?" "We joined the military. We are supposed to be men. These are horrible books for junior high girls. And we are in the Air Force. We are supposed to be the smart branch." "Yeah, so?" "So we're not supposed to be a bunch of pansy-ass manchildreARRRRRRRRRRGH." I suppose that this could be a good thing if I get deployed. Even though it's unlikely I'll see combat, if I do, I'll have plent of HAET to take out on the enemy. That is, if I don't get taken out because my wingman is too busy daydreaming about how badass it would be to be like Edward or some shit. - VB wrote:

Like this? Not fic, but awesome nonetheless. What I really like about this is that apparently Edward isn't even worth a silver exploding .454 hollowpoint from an extremely oversized custom 1911. No, Alucard views him with such distain that he takes him out with what appears to be a 9mm FMJ from an M9, the most generic round from the most generic pistol. Burn! - Spoiler:
Yeah, I doubt that was intentional, but I like to think of it that way.

I mean this guy is a huge dude from the south with a deep booming voice and he reads Twilight.

And silly junior high girls, at that. I admit that when I was a teenager, I loved clothes, doing my nails 5 times a week, and angsting about boys on the phone with my friends (in fact, still do those things, except the angsting part), but I'm pretty sure I would have found Twilight rather boring. I'm rather amazed men read Twilight too. If you want badass heroes, Edward is kind of blah.

WHHHHYYYYYY Proof positive that nowhere is safe. I bet right now, in the Antarctic, one of the scientific teams based there includes at least one person who's reading the Twilight series.

That's what I thought, but then I found other avionics students reading it. You know, one of the jobs that requires the highest ASVAB scores, in the branch that requires the highest ASVAB scores.

| Not to defend Meyer, but it looks like someone named Jordan Scott is trying to sue her for plagiarism.
As if anything in the Twilight series is meritorious enough that it would have to be ripped off from someone else to start with.

As if anything in the Twilight series is meritorious enough that it would have to be ripped off from someone else to start with. Why would anyone want to draw parallels between their work and Twilight? Other than 15 minutes of fame, of course.
