| You'll shoot yourself in the dick. - Quote :
- A 15-year-old Brooklyn boy shot himself in the penis Sunday after
fumbling with a gun that had slid from his waistband, authorities said yesterday. Khamir Grant was then arrested for reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon -- the same charges levied against Burress, who shot himself at a Manhattan nightclub in 2008, law-enforcement sources said. Grant told cops that he was walking home from Amersfort Park at East 39th Street and Avenue J in East Flatbush around 1:30 a.m., when the gun began to fall into his pants, sources said. When Grant grabbed for it, he accidentally pulled the trigger, firing a bullet right through his penis.

| Did his testicles get smashed? I hope so, since it would mean one idiot less producing offsprings to this world.
What kind of moron you need to be for carrying a loaded gun in your pants' waistband?

Maybe he figured that he could be like Plax? Sorry, it's the only thing I could think of.

That's what I said to my brother when he stuck his Airsoft gun in his waistband. (My dad immediately replied with the next line of the book, and my brother eventually got a proper holster.)

| and this isn't the first time he's shot himself. Fortunatly, Nature appears to have cleaned up her own mess here. If he does retain his genitals, I hope some sort of gangrenous infection is found, necessitating their removal. | |

| Well, it still doesn't have anything on the guy that shot himself in the testicles in much the same way, but penis is close enough to make me laugh. | |

| I didn't read any of this thread. Plaxico Burress has already taught us what happens when you carry a loaded gun the waistband of your sweatpants.
It slips, you fumble it, you shoot yourself in a leg.

| A 15 year old, carrying a loaded handgun, with the safety catch effectively off, in the waistband of his pants, at 1.30 in the morning...? Definitely a Darwin Award Candidate... Methinks said teen has been watching too many t.v shows/DVD's, in which this practice has been done, & thought it looked "Kewl"... Well, he's regretting it now... | |

| If only he had known the gun was half-cocked, he wouldn't have ended up...er, sorry, never mind. | |

| He just failed gangbanging in every sense of the word. (Also there are holsters specifically made so you can safely carry a gun inside your waistband.) | |

| At least put it in the back waistband of your pants. Less chance of hitting your penis that way. Unless you're tucking or something. | |

"Mexican carry" is just a bad idea in general. If you stick your gun in the back of your pants (or in a small-of-the-back holster) and fall backwards: Congratulations, you basically landed on a small rock with your spine. Most people who use waistband holsters of any kind usually keep the gun off-center to make it more concealable, easier to get to, and safer in the case of "SOB" holsters.

| Okay, question. Why wasn't the gun on safety? Some people deserve what happens to them. | |

The only safety you can rely on is the one between your ears, as they say, and this guy's was faulty to say the least. Since they never specify a gun, it could've been one that doesn't have a safety switch, with its safety toggle built into the trigger like a Glock, Springfield XD, Walther P99, and a host of others. It might've been a revolver; single action revolvers have no safety because you have to cock them for every shot (and carrying them cocked is retarded), and double action revolvers don't need to be cocked but have a very heavy trigger pull. Because of this, injuries from idiots trying to holster their guns with their fingers on the trigger have resulted in injuries with nicknames like "Glock leg." Incidentally, the Air Force, you'll be taught to keep the M9 holstered with the safety off and a round in the chamber, but not cocked. The reason for this is that the M9 is a double-action automatic, and with the hammer down, like a revolver, it requires a long, heavy pull of the trigger to fire, instead of a short, easy squeeze when it is cocked.
