| RIP "World's Oldest Teenager" - Quote :
- Spokesman Paul Shefrin said the "American Bandstand" creator had a heart attack Wednesday morning at Saint John's hospital in Santa Monica, a day after he was admitted for an outpatient procedure.
I don't think there's anyone here (American, anyway) who didn't grow up watching Clark in some form or another. Bandstand, New Year's Rockin' Eve, TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes, $100,000 Pyramid. Seriously, the guy hosted shows on the (then) three major networks - ABC, CBS, and NBC - at the same time! He was also a member of the Radio, Rock & Roll and Television halls of fame. The man had a run that's hard to match if your name doesn't start with "Your Royal Highness."

Worse: It means he can't take the show back from Ryan Seacrest.

| Poor man. He was never the same after the stroke. Well, he has lots of friends in Rock and Roll Heaven. Rest in peace, man. | |

The name sounds familiar somehow, but even with your brief rundown of Shit He Did, I have NO idea what the hell you're talking about. And I'm more American than you because I'm white and I vote Republican.

| Finally Dick Clark's empty manshell has ceased its function, releasing the chains binding his mind to an eternity of maddening struggle against forces unfathomable. | |

| Funny thing, I thought Dick Clark died already. I must have misinterpreted the headline that he suffered a stroke or something (Was it a stroke or a heart attack? I can't recall) and he left the New Years party to Seacrest.
Though, just because he's gone, doesn't mean the end of the world. (Statistically speaking, the Mayans never factored Leap Year into their calender, so their 2012 would probably centuries ago.)

And incidentally, that last crack gives me one more reason to hate your lying guts...not to mention one more thing for which you owe me an apology.

| Chrissy, champ, Euglena is right. Let's keep "World War III" in the Black Kid Shot thread and leave the fools to grieve for whoever Dick Clark is.
Sound good? | |

He had a stroke back in 2004, and he scaled back his work after that; he only missed one or two New Year's specials, but Seacrest's continued to do the bulk of the hosting duties on them.
