Yup. I wrote a similar paper for a human communications paper, and yeah, I don't trust them.

(It doesn't help that I failed a polygraph I had to take when I was interning for the police department--the polygraph tech said he'd never seen someone have a panic attack in the middle of a test before. All I was doing was interning! I hadn't ever done anything criminal; I was just terrified by the equipment and the squeezing straps and equipment and... yeah. Not a fan of the polygraph.)

Cyberwulf--if you're interested, I came across a book in my research that I think you'd like; it's a great picture of feminism in the 1980s. It's a bit dated, but so much of it is still pertinent, so I figured I'd mention it (while I was thinking about it--if I didn't mention it now, I'd forget entirely). Meanwhile after a bunch of people called Keith Olbermann out for linking to personal info about the accusers, he threw a tantrum, screeched 'SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE RAPE SURVIVORS' and then froze his Twitter account.

You know, as much as I'd like to think that this is all a manufactured conspiracy to take down Wikileaks(what with Paypal, Bank of America, their former hosting service shutting them out) I have a lot of trouble with how these women are being attacked. Their names and addresses being released, being called bitches and bimbos.

While it's fairly obvious that the feds really are after Assange and Wikileaks he might very well have raped those women.

True enough, I guess. Like someone else said, they don't seem to be using this same treatment on a known rapist like Polanski.

And women have to put up with this shit from the time they hit puberty till they're on their death bed. While I don't agree with some of the more extreme feminists, they do have a point when they say that every aspect of a woman's life is immediately called into question the minute she reports being raped. And we're not just talking about young women-I've heard of women as old as in their 70s being raped (by men their own age or younger men), and the courts trying to turn it around that they were somehow asking for it (that's right, Granny, you were asleep in your own bed in your own house when some fucknut broke in and decided to rape you to make himself feel like a big man-obviously, you were just asking for it).
