I've got an account mostly so I can watch people I know who have accounts. There are actually some really good artists on DA, it's just that, like most places that are open to the public, the crap tends to overwhelm the decent stuff.

It helps if you stick to artists you know are good, or fandoms that tend to produce good art (Like Dr. Who and Torchwood).

Unfortunately, it seems like any anime or gaming fandoms are essentially doomed.

Personally, I'm surprised there isn't more Homestuck guro out there. You'd think the trolls, especially Equius, would be a hit with the gorehounds.

I have a DA account, mostly so I can look at all the awful anime stuff being posted, and bask in its horror.

I just started posting to DA. Currently enjoying obtaining praise and worsening the Homestuck fandom.

You misunderstand. There's loads of good stuff on DA, I have no doubt...but I pick the awful stuff on purpose. Like Reid/Morgan fanfiction. I like to cringe at other people's epic fails when I get bored. And I have a very low tolerance to boredom.

This has little to do with the actual art (which, while the eyes are a bit off, isn't anything a person with uneven eyes wouldn't have) and more to do with the piece descritpion.

Something in my gut says that "Voldy" "Brutally rape" and ":D " shouldn't be in the same paragraph. Hooray, rape baby! Tee Hee, mudbloods.

This. I haven't read all the Harry Potter books, but I know enough about cannon to know that referring to him as 'Voldy' is somewhat akin to refering to Sauron in the LOTR as "Sweety-kins.' I've watched my son play Left 4 Dead, and out of all the artwork I could imagine it inspiring (lots of blood, guts and gore), Ellis as a cupcake was never an option.

While searching for Stalin slash (don't ask) I found this Harry/Draco WWII gem.

Aside from both of the faces looking exactly alike, which looks like neither Harry nor Draco, and the Latin filler text at the bottom...it's not too terrible....

Well, le artiste says it was inspired by a history class, so unless they're teaching world history according to Hetalia these days...actually that might explain a lot.
