The Oompa-Loompas alone made me cringe. What's the whole thing with that single guy? Yes, I lolled the first time I saw 20 exactly similar tiny people, but by the time they started raping the songs, which were so cool in the book, for the sake of screen time for the Oompa-Loompa dance...ugh. See, I actually liked the songs in the remake. I thought it was neat how they did different genres of music. Whenever I think of the first movie, I think of this: - Spoiler:

I always thought of Godzilla fans. Yeah, we exist. the 98 American film had the name "GINO" (Godzilla In Name Only) among fans until Final Wars which gave that monster the official name of "Zilla". As the director put it "They took the God out of Godzilla". It's one of the few times us Godzilla fans took ourselves seriously. Which, given the series, makes sense.

| Yeah, GINO also means Galactica In Name Only.
And then RINO and FINO and other INOs...

| I'm going to be high-brow for a minute “Mansfield Park” by Jane Austen was an awful book, and I am a fan of the woman. But the book was bad but somehow the movie was worse, so much worse. Actually most adoptions seem to have problems when it comes to Jane Austen. For example the BBC version of “Pride and Prejudice” is much better then the recent Hollywood version but still has a few problems.
Poor Torey Hayden, her gorgeous non-fiction book that was turned into a horrid Lifetime movie of the week…..even Torey didn’t like it! The movie was awful, I can’t remember what the name of it was, I’ll look it up and edit it in. suffice to say, it was awful. The book however was good.
the movie Catwoman was a pretty bad adaption of everything I understood about Cabwoman. My dad bought me the comic book once, probably because he thought she would be a good role model….ah well later I would Idolise Buffy.
ETA: the book was "One Child" a non-fiction account from the career of the writer/teacher/sheep farmer Torey Hayden, and her student(s). In 1995 the film was made of the book, titled “Untamed Heart” it was an awful film and throughout the movie I kept cringing.

| Anything H.P. Lovecraft. The Call of Cthulhu silent made by the HPLHS is the only exception.
Also, was not a huge fan of the Hitchhikers Guide remake (Even if Stephen Fry did the voice of the book, unfortunately)
