I don't think that there are appropriate word to describe something like this. I can't understand how somebody could be so cruel, and to a member of their own family. Just... how deranged.

Not make light of something this horrible, but, y'know, it kind of makes more sense to pull this stuff on your own family than on random strangers. At least you have some idea of where they've been. And how awful they are.

I know, right? And it mentions above that the grandfather had removed all knives from the apartment becuase he was afraid the guy would do something like this. Geez, gramps, maybe you should have, I dunno, had your grandson locked in an insane asylum. At the very least, you could have turned him over to the police.
