| Following the debacle about how the 2012 Olympics logo looks like Lisa Simpson sucking off a dude, the organisers had a lot to contend with to make the mascot even crappier.
Luckily they succeeded.
Inexplicably named after some small provincial towns, the Olympics mascots are big, long one-eyed monsters. One of whom appears to have bladder control issues (he's the one for the Paralympics, apparently).
I apologise for the crap my country has produced.

| They both go to the same image. And "Lisa Simpson sucking off a dude" is a pretty serious stretch. | |

I disagree. And the other one, I agree that the Lisa Simpson thing is a bit of a stretch, but the colors and unmotivated design alone make it pretty awful.

It's pretty obvious that it's supposed to be "20" (New Line) "12", to me at least. Can't explain the colors as easily, though. As for the current symbols, what are they supposed to be? Last I checked, the symbols were local creatures or ones culturally significant to the host country.

| A news story on the BBC website (luckily the video's viewable outside the UK) shows them in action, so it's not quite so bad, but... uh, yeah. | |

My God, you're right. That's the worst design of "2012" that I can imagine, short of painting it in menstrual blood.

| Eh, they're not terrible. They're along the lines of some other past Olympic mascots (such as Izzy, or Neve and Gliz). | |

Let's hope Rio does a better job with their Olympic logo. Well, unless they paint it in menstrual blood, I find it hard to conceive of them doing any worse.
