That's my biggest problem with this. Over here, just a few days ago, a sixty-three year old man was sentenced to six years in prison for sexually abusing his (now middle-aged) daughter for several years when she was a child. The judge suspended the last two years and took into account the fourteen months the man had already spent in jail while awaiting trial. So he'll spend just under three years in prison. Where's the outrage we had when that woman in Roscommon was sentenced to seven years (the maximum penalty under our outdated, 19th century incest laws) for abusing her kids?
