I'm with Ozymandias. The 'eye for an eye' approach seems much more fair.

As for being a surgeon-there are lots of ways to cripple a person's hands so they can't hold a scalpel (or a spoon).

The Western world has a long-standing, honourable tradition of corporal punishment that successfully punished crime by chopping off bits and pieces. Necroposting with an update - Former doctor guilty of removing Carolyn DeWaegeneire's genitals without consent.

I'm glad he was found guilty.

The phrase "former doctor" is satisfying to read in this context.

Given all the other crap stuff that's happened today (poor Japan), it's nice to hear that at least this guy is convicted.
