My friends, video games are a good and wonderful thing. They provide us with entertainment, pretty pictures and fantastic, awesome, downright catchy tunes.

And then there's this....THIS.

I discovered this last night through /v/, late at night with all the lights in my room off. When I clicked the link I had no idea what to expect; perhaps an annoying but forgettable bit of music from some bizarre technologically unimpressive (c) 2003-2004, hecho en Venezuela video game ditty.

I did not expect to unleash a monstrosity of Lovecraftian proportions into my memory. Even after I hastily closed the tab I could still hear the senseless cacophony ringing in my ears for minutes afterwards. I have used the term "ear rape" fairly casually but until yesterday I did not truly understand what that meant; all my sense have been violated violently by the rhythm-less din thrusting into mind. This is the work of a misanthropic composer who is convinced that all humanity must suffer death by ruptured eardrums and aneurysms. I'm not entirely convinced something this horrible can be made without the help of some sort of deal with the devil. Truly, this is the soundtrack in the elevator to hell, the last thing you hear before you die, the screaming and howling of the damned.

My friends...

Drove me temporarily insane. Had a good 5 minutes just slumped on my computer desk laughing at nothing. I'm downloading the demo version of Eurotruck Simulator which looks nice and bland and soothing...

I wonder when the underpaid Venezuelan working in squalor put those 8 notes on a continuous loop did he really appreciate what he had created.

Edit: Huh, I've never seen a completely red track before. Didn't think it would be that boring, either. The bus select song was okay, though; it had a loop and didn't sound like the sound chip was trying to commit suicide.
