What exactly was it that you said? Sometimes it's really easy to say something ableist without meaning to.

Did they seriously call you dumb? Because 'dumb' is an obvious ableist term. It means 'unable to speak.'

I casually said I want to bitchslap a character. Said character happens to be a 15-year-old female. So obviously I'm a horrible person who hates women and thinks beating children with a leather belt is A-OK. Just because I use the term "bitch". What do they want me to do, use "assholeslap"? Doesn't roll off the tongue as nicely. Plus I think it's enabling non-consensual buttslapping or something.

There is some argument over whether or not stupid is an ableist term. I do think a good case can be made for it being one. However, 'dumb' absolutely definitely is.

Bitch can be a sexist term, but not always (hence the magazine named 'Bitch.') I can sorta see why someone could be insulted by 'bitchslap,' though in context I doubt I would have noticed it, but if they are using ableist language to do social activism then they FAIL AT EVERYTHING.

Knight slapping is way cooler than bitch slapping, a person recovering from a knight slap will faint seven times when attempting to get back up and even then feel woozy. [/useless contribution]

A bitchslap is when you backhand somebody. Referred to as a "bitchslap" because it's a joke that pimps hit their bitches like that.

It leaves more of an impact, because your knuckles are connecting with their face, instead of the softer area of the palm. Typically done while wearing rings, so that the edge of them cuts the face. It often has the desired outcome of making a person bleed.

You got people coming after you because you used a term that refers to a pimp hitting a prostitute, therefore equating the character to a whore that needs to be shown her place.

We lived outside of suburbia until I was in college, but "bitchslap" didn't really get tossed about much. Other things (worse and mostly in Spanish) yes, but bitchslap, not so much.

A lot of people throw the word "gyp" around, which is racist and offensive. The only people who care about that word are the the SJers. And when people get called out on it, they reply it doesn't count, because everyone uses it, and that they're getting their panties in a knot. Or it turns out they had no idea it was offensive.
