1. It makes perfect sense to capitalize things to which you wish to draw attention.
2. If she'd written an entire email in all-bolded, red-font caps, they might have a point.
3. These people would die of the confrontationalism if they ever saw the AUMB handbook.
4. I'm hoping this post ends up funnier in the reading than I'm now worried it will in the writing.

OK, I think somebody needs to cut waaaaaaaaaay back on their coffee consumption.

This was not CAPSLOCK RAGE! She was trying to draw attention to something important. Sheesh, they wonder why morale in the workplace is so low if you can get fired for a silly little thing like this.

Yeah, there are more important things to worry about.
