In case you haven't seen it yet, or just don't want to flip into a rage right now, here's the talking points:
- Gays in the military need to keep on keeping it to themselves - Liberals live under your bed and are out to get you - HELP HELP I'M BEING REPRESSED
Revolting, isn't it? But before you run for the Pepto-Bismol to quell the nausea swelling inside your gut, take a look at the like/dislike bar
13,431 likes, 504,567 dislikes, and rapidly increasing, in not even four days. If it keeps up it'll come close to being one of the most hated vids on YT.
The antidote gleaned? There's hope for humanity yet.

^Yet, ironically, it's just as relevant right now as it was two months ago.

Which is probably why there are so few 'likes' for Perry's video; you can't vote for something if you don't have any idea it even exists.

I'm sure I found a response to this by a serving soldier an organisation that advocates for gay servicemen, but I'm blowed if I can find it now.
and here it is:
Quote :
The Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, a group which defended homosexual servicemembers in court while Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell was in place and worked to end the ban late last year, told TPM that Perry should check the facts before he tries to make gay military service a wedge issue in Iowa.
“Gov. Perry is out of step with the majority of Americans who supported repealing DADT,” said Zeke Stokes, SLDN spokesperson. “The Governor needs to consult with the Service chiefs, all of whom reported to congress that repeal is going well without controversy.”
So, instead... Also: I'm just gonna leave this here:
And I'll remind you that We are discussing the guy who once said:
Quote :
homosexuality is about sex [otherwise they'd] call it something else

Also, an interesting nugget of information. The song he's using for it is by Aaron Copeland. Who was gay.

Which I'm sure, in Perry's eyes, makes him doubly damned. Or would, if he were aware of either fact.
When are the Repug's going to learn to start fact-checking? I realize that most of their followers apparently aren't smart enough to know the difference, but not all of us are idiots (or Republicans).

Perry has no power. All the power, in Texas, is with the Lt. Governor. All Perry is is a talking head whose wife wants to expand the Governor's Mansion 8,920 square feet (829 m2) because she thinks that 25 rooms and 7 bathrooms is too small.
Not to mention the whole rumor about Perry being [url=http://www.dallasvoice.com/head-figure-head-journalism-rick-perrys-sex-life-1096969.html]in the closet.
