That's far from the worse it can get, I live in Spain and our retirement age was raised up to 67 last year. Protest against it was really faint and scattered.

I always find it amazing that what conspiracy theorists say in jest about the Jews/aliens/the government et al are factually true of the Koch Brothers.

Even I am not sure of the irony content in the above statement.

But yeah... aren't the citizens form Michigan doing anything about this? I don't know exactly how the legal hierarchy goes in the States but can't someone question this law on the basis of human rights? Or is the misinformation that bad?

There are protests here and as I mentioned a petition circulating to have Gov. Snyder recalled, but I personally doubt that they will lead to much. I do expect this law to be taken to the Supreme Court and subsequently crushed for being the unconstitutional, undemocratic piece of garbage that it is should it pass.

Would protesting even help? It doesn't seem to.

Now, maybe if someone hacked into the Kochhead brothers' bank accounts and took all their money...

He's also slashed the education budget to hell and it sounds like the schools are back to Engler-level fuckery. Last I heard, my old high school is going to have to cut the entire arts budget (because gods forbid they turn the sports teams into club sports like a lot in the area).

Looks like I moved out of the state just in time. Not that Texas is much better, but at least I could find work down here. Though, I do wish I was still up north so I could help organize protests or petitions or...something.
