Which is made doubly easy because we've got Fox News to tell everyone that it was the Democrats who shutdown the federal government; Fox wasn't around in 1994-'95.

It is my understanding that the Senate can strike portions of a House Bill, but they must send it back to the House if they do. So, if the Senate strikes the de-funding of Planned Parenthood and the bill ends up back at the House then the Republicans will be holding the sack of shit they created.

I am relatively certain that Fox News' target audience would be perfectly fine with the federal government ceasing to exist in any capacity that did not deliver them aircraft carriers.
