NaNoWriMo 2010

Staying afloat; I'll probably hit 15000 today.

22,600 and something. I'm aiming for 25K before the end of the night. I think this is going to be longer than 50K, but I don't care so long as I finish it. I have a real problem finishing my stories. (See: my ff.net profile)

10,686. I really need to write something this week. Hell, thy name is Procrastination.

Aaargh, up to 21,323. I fell behind in the last couple of days. I'll really have to hoof it to make up for the lost time, but I've been too tired the last couple days. Blaaaah.

I am so far behind, it isn't even funny. But I think I might pull through this weekend.

I've been forced to quit NaNo before it even started due to medical problems. How's that for ya.

I had to quit a Big Bang because I ended up in the hospital the day after I signed up. One of my Nano fics is actually an attempt to write the idea I had before I dropped out.

I stalled out around 21,000. I think I may have to pull the old "guy comes through the door with a gun" trick.

I have just reached 23,055. And am planning to make 24K tonight.

Although all of my characters just want to run around making the porn instead of making plot. Jerks.

Damn it. It's not happening for me, folks. I haven't even broken 5,000 words - and the worst part is that it's not for lack of plot. I just haven't got the time. I'm gonna switch the project over to the Phoenix Wright Big Bang instead.

Damn, that's too bad, Cy. Maybe next year... and perhaps for this "Big Bang" thing (some kind of fanfic contest I'm assuming?) you'll have a good head start then.

If I didn't have the dog and jujutsu class I would probably have written a lot more. Oh well.

A "Big Bang" is a contest where people sign up to write a brand new, never-before-posted fic that's at least 10,000 words in three or four months. Artists, graphics designers and mix creators sign up to create fanart and fanmixes for the fics. Then the whole lot get posted all at once. It's pretty cool.

Ah, yes, someone had explained that to me last night, but I had forgotten.

... I can tell I'm Nanoing. I make my sentences much longer than necessary. At any rate, good luck on the Big Bang! :D

EDIT: I hit 26,043 words, and I actually wigged myself out, which is an accomplishment. *brrr*

The real problem is when you hit thirty thousand. Thirty thousand to forty thousand is the worst part.

Not quite where I wanted to be today, but pretty close: 29, 818.

Zozo: You could try killing some of them off? That might also help keep it fresh.

I think I've lost my plot.

It was supposed to be about human infertility twenty years after an alien invasion, but right now my characters are having a Christmas party.

Half of them have never even heard of Christmas before.

I need to get back on track, but I don't know how!

They wake up and the Christmas party was just a crazy dream?

Maybe it's some social experiment the aliens are doing?

When I get stuck, I just hit 'enter' a bunch of times over the part I'm stuck on and write something that should come later in the story that I'm NOT stuck on. Then I figure after NaNo I'll go back and figure out what should be in the parts I skipped.

ETA: That sounded odd. what I mean is, I leave a gap so I can find the space I left off at (which doesn't count towards my word count) and come back to it when I'm feeling more inspired, and start writing something else that I know I want to be in the plot, but not necessarily at that point.

Dragged myself up quite a bit by giving one of my characters epilepsy. He thinks he has psychic powers.

No, that makes sense. I do the same thing; my NaNos have never been one continuous narrative, but rather, scattered scenes from one overarching plot. It gives me the freedom to flesh out multiple parts of the story.

That being said, I'm definitely feeling a bit of NaNo fatigue. My characters are hiding out with an impandulu, and I spent several paragraphs describing his furniture.
