It was moving. A mass of healthy threads wound around it, constantly shifting, but there was a strange electrical crackling within them. Some of the other threads looked like nothing I'd ever seen before—almost like the ghosts of threads, pale and insubstantial, constantly warping and bulging as they fought to come into existence. Their effort really wasn't working: each nanosecond a thread got a hold on reality and began to swell into full color, a crackle of energy would sever it, and another ghostly thread would appear to take its place.
