I don't really know the Magic game, though I get the general idea, but I'm really enjoying this thread. I particularly like Ho!Mione and "Sparkles".

Don't worry, you're just not as nerdy as you think you are. Let's see what I remember about this game.

See the bottom right corner? That's Strength/Toughness. (or Attack/Defense)

So if this card is attacked by card with Strength of 3+, it will be destroyed.

Now look to the top right. That's the mana cost to summon the card. All the symbol ones mean one mana of that type. The number means how much more mana you need, which could be any other type. So this card needs 3 mana, one of them has to be black. For comparison, real Magic cards with 4/3 black creatures require 4 cards at minimum. And they don't have any abilities.

The text lists the abilities. 'Fear' is self explanatory. When this card attacks, it can be only be defended from by another black (just look at the card colour) creature or artifact, otherwise damage is done directly. And players get 20 life points. Let that sink in.

'Regenerate' means that when this card is attacked(that is, the player assigned it as defense to a tougher card) and player payed (tapped) two black mana, it won't get destroyed. It pretty much can't be destroyed through brute force.

Now, your card

Costs 4 mana, and has 5/4.

It has Double Strike. Double Strike fucks up the battle flow a bit, in that the two cards don't attack simultaneously. You deal 5 damage first, then you and the opponent attack simultaneously.

Example: Your card attacks a 10/5 creature without Double Strike or First Strike. Enemy card is destroyed.

Your card attacks a 3/7 creature without Double Strike or First Strike. Enemy card survives the first 5 damage (3/(7-5)), then it is destroyed(3/(2-5)) and you survive (5/(4-3)).

Your card attacks a 4/1 creature with First Strike. Both cards attack simultaneously and are destroyed.

Basically, the card can fuck up any creature with X/5- (where X can be infinity for all you care) without First Strike or any creature with 3-/10-.
