Can't stop playing, can't stop bitching.

We've all probably had this experience. We're playing a game that's just chock full o' flaws, bugs, and petty annoyances. You're muttering "Stupid X! Why don't you Y?" at least once a session.

But you keep on playing. And complaining. And playing some more. Rinse and repeat.

For me, at this moment, it's Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness. There's just so much they arbitrarily changed from earlier games that a long-time fan can't help but bitch: I have buy Bodigizers? I have to grow my own rice and wheat? I have be told how to make every recipe? Including boiled eggs? I have to buy animal pens one at a time? The objects I need to update my tools are given out randomly?

And yet, I keep firing it up. Yeah, I probably won't come back to this one for a while once I play things out, but I probably will come back eventually.

So what say you?

(The Wii versions of) RE original flavor and RE Zero. Good god, how I hate the character movements SO MUCH yet I can't stop playing....WTF tank-like movements now? In the 21st century? And yet..and yet...

This. Game. Is. Crack. This game is also full of glitches and lovely errata. I've had Oak Trees disappear, lag, shovel to become selected even though I pressed the button for the fucking watering can, Ruffians get stuck in my garden FOREVER, lag, shovel will randomly just...not work at all. Oh man, the errata in this game is so terrible it's ridiculous. The encyclopedia will actually give you the wrong fucking directions at times. Yeah, it says the Sour Sour Cocoadile's supposed to eat two Swananas when it's actually just one. THANKS FOR WASTING MY TIME, GAME.

Illbleed, a game that technically qualifies as survival-horror for the Sega Dreamcast. Chock full of stupid bugs, bad design decisions, awkward mechanics, lousy controls, terrible voice acting, and some of the worst, most inconsistent plots imaginable. And yet, the game is ridiculously fun. I consider it to be the greatest bad game ever made.

Civilization 4. I constanly get my ass kicked in all manner of cheap ways but I keep coming back

OH GOD... I've been playing this MMORPG called Red Stone since 2007 and it's only been going downhill... yet I STILL come back like a kicked dog that's fanatically loyal to it's owner who has a drinking problem and beats his/her wife/husband constantly.

However there has been talk lately of it being handed back to it's parent/owner corporation who started the original up waaaaaaaaay back in 04.

Modern Warfare 2.

Every time I play it, the astounding total lack of growth from CoD4:MW keeps rearing its ugly head to piss me off. It's like they thought they didn't have to fix any problems from MW1 and crapped out a sequel with a shitty plot on top of shitty AI and poorly thought-out level design.

But I keep coming back to it because it has its moments.

Yea, the plot was kinda...off.
Most of the single-player seemed to be designed for a shotguns-only playthrough (Kinda annoying when your weapon of choice is a sniper rifle.)
Multi-player's the same charlie-foxtrot.
Graphics are nice on HD, though

It means "On the Move." Infinity Ward watched Generation Kill, fapped until their dicks were raw, and spooged out MW2.

Guess I could whine a bit about the multiplayer of MW2:

-Remove the magical Commando teleport death strike! Or at least make it so, that a generic swing with a knife in any body part doesn't result in an instant death. I guess the knife could be coated with some nerve poison, but if so, it should be stated somewhere.

-Nerf the Model 1887 Akimbo! All you have to do, is to point the guns in the general direction of the enemies and they all die!

-Nerf the One Man Army so that it won't work for the noobtube! Granted, I've never seen anyone else besides me using it, but it still makes me feel bad about how easy it's to get the nuke with it.

Time to whine about Assassin's Creed 2:

Is it even possible to die in combat? Enemies strikes do about as much damage as a slap to the face. And in the off-chance, that the enemies manage to do some damage to you, you have a shitload of health potions to use.

And why are there so many weapons, since it makes no difference what you use, since the enemies die just as easy if you go at them barehanded or with a heavy war hammer?

Actually barehanded is the best, since you can so easily disarm the enemies and then just oneshot'em.

Also, at times, the game feels like a history lesson.
