STOP AVATAR

Greetings, ForumMites.

There’s been a movie out lately, maybe you’ve heard of it, it’s called Avatar. Has blue people and flying mountains; the usual, really.
Anyway, so there’s a person on the internet who wants to “stop AVATAR”, or at least that’s what it says on their blog. Let’s have a look at their blog, shall we?

.....clearly, heterosexuals will become extinct and transgendered will be the norm. Then everyone can feel they’re in the wrong body! It’s Utopia!

So, obviously transgenderism (is that a word?) is an important topic for this person. Oh, look! There’s an About Me section.

Let’s be serious here, yeah, the concept of the avatar had a ton of possibilities that he didn’t use. This could have been explored from a number of standpoints, such as sexuality, transsexuality, gender roles, class issues, race issues, take your pick.

It’s fucking James Cameron. He’s known for pacifist, political, insightful movies and has always been interested in showing the full extent of human relationships, right?

I would totally pay to see a transgender Avatar. That way, he can be in the wrong body twice over and angst that no one made him a chick Avatar. And then he can find Neytiri and totally hit on her, and then he can suddenly fall for Tsu'tey as well. But as he learns their ways and grows to know them both he can be all conflicted, especially since you don't even need to give Tsu'tey a reason to kick his sorry dreamwalker ass. Clearly someone who is not actually familiar with LGBTQ stuff. First off, heterosexuality is not the opposite of transgender, and I've never heard someone call their transition their "transformation," the latter sounds much more like something you'd hear from a furry or otherkin.

Secondly... What idiot expects anything out of mainstream films? Seriously. Those things are still sexist about ciswomen. There's no reason to believe or expect them to be casual and accepting of sexuality and gender.

NO PAPAYRUS IS DUMB AND UGGO AND A REALLY SHIT SHORTHAND WAY OF SAYING SOMETHING IS ~FOREIGN~ AND ~CLOSE TO THE NATURAL WORLD~

There are so many other fonts out there to abuse, you shouldn't have to rely on the IN YO FACE fonts that are deliberately made to be over the top and plain in their intentions, like Chiller, Curlz MT or the dreaded COMIC SANS, BRO!

People are ragging on Papyrus louder and harder because of Avatar, but that doesn't change the fact that it's still a shit tier font and shouldn't be used for anything professionally (unless you're having, like and office Egypt-themed party or something?).

Chiller is the worst goddamn font. Worse than comic sans. Comic Sans can at least be used ironically.

See, that's the thing. I would rather someone use Papyrus to be all ~*~ethnik~*~ than to use something like this shit, because at least Papyrus isn't illegible as ass and borderline offensive to the actual cultures being referenced.
But yeah fonts are cool business, but it quickly turns into Serious Business ^TM when it's all you ever talk about every day ever.

Oh god, no. It's so so so so obviously overused in design school. It's like the font version of using red, black and white as your color scheme: yeah, it works and has worked before, but it's safe and damned overused. Try something new.
