| Russian and some Spanish. I also can manage both American and U.K. English pretty well when it comes to expressions and different spellings. | |

| I'm a native speaker of Swedish, I know some very VERY basic German. And I can read Cyrillic - as in, I know which sound each letter represents, but I don't know enough Russian to translate the words once I've transliterated them. | |

Hur mår du och will you marry me?! I'M BACK! (I swear, I only fell off the net because of college for a while, and y'all get a new board and everything). I'm fine, and we'll see about that marriage-thing - maybe we can work something out? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Elizabethan and Restoration English. Which , by the way, are Modern English, not "Old English". Beowulf was Old English: - Quote :
Hwæt! We Gardena in geardagum,
þeodcyninga, þrym gefrunon,
hu ða æþelingas ellen fremedon.
Oft Scyld Scefing sceaþena þreatum,
monegum mægþum, meodosetla ofteah,
egsode eorlas. Syððan ærest wearð
feasceaft funden, he þæs frofre gebad,
weox under wolcnum, weorðmyndum þah,
oðþæt him æghwylc þara ymbsittendra
ofer hronrade hyran scolde,
gomban gyldan. þæt wæs god cyning! [/size] If you genuinely can't see a difference between that and - Quote :
- Blessed be God, at the end of the last year I was in very good health,
without any sense of my old pain but upon taking of cold. I lived in Axe yard, having my wife and servant Jane, and no more in family than us three. My wife, after the absence of her terms for seven weeks, gave me hopes of her being with child, but on the last day of the year she hath them again. then you've got worse problems than I can deal with in a Webforum. ETA a few hints: 1. "Thou" == subject. "Thee" == object. Always, always, always. 2. There are rules for use of the long s. "Just replace every lowercase 's' with a lowercase 'f'" is not, except in comedy, one of them. 3. "-eth" ending only in third person SINGULAR. For second person SINGULAR it's "-st". I eat, thou eatest, he/she/it eateth. 3a. For plurals all that goes out the window. We eat, ye eat, they eat. I can copy-edit Regency/Colonial English but can't write them: I find myself going too archaic.

| I'm a native Finnish speaker as well, and quite a grammar nazi. Apparently my English is very good, so I've been told, and I can translate both ways just fine. - Spoiler:
And goodness, I occasionally do song translations from Finnish to English too. It's fun!
I wish I could contribute more languages, but all the others I study are still on a very basic level. -_-
