Brave beauty Farrah Fawcett lost her courageous battle with cancer today, bringing a sad curtain on the "Charlie's Angels" star's public fight with the deadly disease.

Fawcett, who was 62, died at 9:28 a.m. Pacific time with long-time companion Ryan O'Neal and friend Alana Stewart at her bedside, TMZ.com reported.

This really is an awful year to be a celebrity.

Poor Mrs. Fawcett.

Not to mention Ryan O'Neil.

I thought Farrah was a pretty good actress in spite of being best-known as a sex symbol. I saw 'The Burning Bed' in child development class in high school and liked it in spite of the really depressing subject material.

I resent that comparison! I have no problem with people be famous for writing if what they write is good fiction, good non-fiction, or at least truly meaningful in some way; this guy blogs about celebrity gossip. Nothing truly meaningful or even minutely useful to the world has ever come from gossiping about celebrities.

I meant if celebrities are dying and bloggers are celebrities, then our very own Mikey needs to be on his guard lest he be next.

He's deleted his blog though, so maybe he's safe.

Me too. That movie was really disturbing, but I enjoyed it. I usually don't like made for TV movies, but the spate of "OMG ABUSE" movies that were made in the 80's were kinda amusing. This one, however, wasn't. Sad to see her go.

If I may, what's the point in marrying your lifelong companion only when it's scientifically proven she won't see the next month?
Admittedly, I'm not up to date on anything regarding the two of them, so indulge me.

He will control her funeral and can legally inherit and all that. Also, closure, I suppose. It probably made her happy, at least.
