Yup, according to graduates of 2009, these are the defining moments of their generation. Apart from Lady "No-Pants" Gaga, and the obvious Twilight, what I find most hilarious is Twitter being a defining moment. Like being able to tell your friends "I HAD STEAK FOR DINNER" is really the biggest defining moment in someone's life...

My optimism for this generation just dropped about 50 points.

I love how Twilight is a greater defining moment than gay marriage.

I love Lady GaGa, don't get me wrong, but umm...no, class of '09. Just no.

Eh, I remember most of my classmates in high school. Earth-shaking politics often took a backseat to the "fad-of-the-month" (I think at the time it was DVDs).

It wasn't like this in my day. Sure, we ranked the advancing glaciers behind Ogg and the Stone-Tones, but that music truly did speak to our generation!

My sister was only a junior in '09, but the back of her yearbook includes Twilight as one of the defining moments too.

I just checked mine and for the class of '08, one of our defining moments was DH coming out.

At least ours was from a good series.

I actually went to check my yearbook to see if anyone like that was there, and that would be a no.

But there is a horribly unattractive picture of Fergie in there and another of Avril Lavigne looking like crap.

And apparently HSM2 is one of the most important things that happened in '08.

I'm so glad I never bothered to look there when I first got it because I would've bitched about it to our retarded yearbook staff.

We didn't even have a defining moments section in my senior yearbook (1994). I wanted to put one in (I was on yearbook staff), but the teacher vetoed the idea.

It may have had something to do with the fact that the most defining moments of that school year seemed to involve teachers having sex with students. Of course, there were other defining things going on, too...like the kid in Singapore who got caned for vandalism and the infamous Lorena Bobbitt case. Oh, yes, and Nixon died.

I don't think I even got my yearbook from senior year.

Oh teenagers.

Wow, I'm glad I graduated in 2007. Or wait, do they mean from high school? In that case, it was 2003, and I was too busy being a rebellious 18 year old (rawrrr!) to care about pop culture.

Well, at least Twitter has been an outlet for the Iranians to let the world know what's going on over there. Yeah, I know that's not why twitter is on the list, but whatever.

But the fact that Twilight is higher up on that list than Gay Marriage...

But seriously, 9/11 isn't on this list? Does that not count as their generation? They were alive and 10-11 years old for it, they should remember it, it should count.

These things are usually for things that happened during their senior year of high school, not stuff that happened when they were younger.
