Boy who lost his penis in circumcision gets 2.3 million dollars

Perhaps I should have added some info that had been simmering in my mind as I typed the reply.
Somewhere near where I live, the family of a boy whose arm was broken during delivery have sued the hospital. The kid has a paralysed arm hanging limply from his shoulder as a result of the botched operation. The compensation was 500,000 euros.

I'm not saying this case does not deserve compensation - but the proportion seems off.

I consider male circumcision a form of genital mutilation, and I think it's really sad that this kid lost his penis undergoing a totally unnecessary procedure.
