Six-feet tall, this gorgeous escaped Amazon looks like the kind of woman I'd be unable to form coherent thought around.

And then I heard her singing, and was strongly reminded of a cat crying at the food dish at 3am. It even induces the same murderous annoyance.

But maybe that could be worked with....if she had some decent lyrics to sing. Instead, she writes her own. Ain't she special?

So...you're writing songs about this guy, who you're apparently friends with, wishing about him, and singing about him constantly. That's not creepy and stalkerish... Anyway, if you're so fucking interested, why didn't you...oh...I don't know, as him out yourself? (Conspiratorial whisper) Because you know, women are allowed to ask men out, you know. And if he said no, you, as an adult can get the fuck over it and not be insanely resentful of the girl he's actually attracted to.

Maybe I'm being cruel, needlessly so. Let's investigate her latest hit, "Love Story"

This entire song irritates me. For this reason, right here in these lyrics. When Romeo and Juliet weren't allowed to see each other, things were different. They were kids. But this whole song is about her dad not letting her see this boy, and now it's okay because daddy says so and you can marry this guy you barely know and be under his thumb instead. What the fuck? Did I suddenly time travel? You're a grown woman. And you're still writing songs about how daddy won't let you date some boy?

I'm so tired of these adult women acting like kids in their music, and Taylor Swift is the most prominent one I can think of. All she writes about are boys she has a crush on. The lyrics are unimaginative, barely rythmic, and shallow as hell. She can't even have the grace to carry the tunes.

Teardrops on my Guitar has to be one of the most annoying songs I have ever heard in my entire life. The lyrics are so stupid and certain rhymes are just so, so bad. I am in awe about how bad it is.

Agreeing that she's incredibly pretty, though.

Also, she calls herself a whore in "Love Story". Just sayin'.

Also also, she has the same birthday as my boyfriend.

The funniest part of all of this? One of my best friends shared an apartment with a girl who went to high school with Taylor Swift. I talked to this girl all the time and after she mentioned that fascinating nugget of information, I asked her a bunch of questions about what Taylor Swift was really like, etc.

Apparently she was a bullying cuntrag who had sleeping with other people's boyfriends down to an art form. That kid in the song, Drew? He was actually a nice guy who lived next door to Taylor who couldn't stand her. He wasn't mean to her, but he didn't speak two words to her hardly, and my friend said once she just creepily stared at him from her yard while he was outside with his friends and really freaked him out.

The vast majority of people in her school are appalled that she's famous, and a lot of them are downright furious over her claims that she was bullied and a victim, and her desperate attempt to seem like a down-to-earth country girl who grew up on a farm or something. SHE was the one doing the bullying and the neighborhood she lived in was a fabulously wealthy, manicured-lawn type place.

My favorite story was when the girl I know and her friend were sitting in study hall, and her friend was upset about something personal and tried to tell her about it. My friend noticed that Taylor (who was sitting a row behind them) was listening in, so she leaned over and whispered as quietly as she could, "Look, let's talk about this later, Taylor is eavesdropping".

Taylor immediately shouts, "I was NOT eavesdropping!!!" :D

^That is too awesome. I bet if I told my mom, who is a Taylor Swift fan, about that, she would just say that your friend was just jealous of Taylor.

If you knew the girl who told me this, that'd be a laugh. She genuinely just isn't that way at all. People are dead-set on believing that Taylor Swift is some sweethearted country gal and nothing you tell them will dissuade them.

I have no trouble believing any of that. (She's still hot as hell though)

Jeezus though, poor Drew-dude. She's talked about the subject of that song in interviews hasn't she? And he barely knows her?

Oh boy, I hate Taylor Swift's music. My floormate blasted her music all the time, on repeat, you could hear it when walking down the hall. *shudders*

Is it just me or does she look like she's trying to go for the sultry, cat like eyes and instead looks angry and unpleasant because of too much eye liner?

I must be really, really lucky to have never heard of her. Or any of her music.

Taylor Swift fills me with a certain type of rage because she writes her own lyrics and they're just stupid.

Every day, EVERY DAY, in the store I work in, her stupid Love Story song comes on, and I really like the intro with the banjo - believe it or not I'm a sucker for some good banjo music - but then she starts to sing about how he was Romeo and she was the scarlet letter.

No, Taylor Swift. Fuck you. The Scarlet Letter is about adultery and how lies can tear people apart, and sin and blah. You are an idiot, so please stop comparing your supposed-to-be-happy-ending story to one of the greatest literary tragedies (this time I'm talking about Romeo and Juliet) in history. Stfu with your idiotic lyrics.

It doesn't make Swift's lyric's any better. So no, I'm not going to give her credit for trying when she obviously didn't try very hard. This is her job now. She could put some gawddamn effort into it by taking voice lessons and getting people who are actually talented to teach her to write lyrics.

Why anyone in their right mind would want to rip off such a godawful performer is beyond me though.

I have to put up with hearing Taylor Swift and her shite at work. Every time one of her songs comes on, this one server always has to crank the volume. It's fine that she writes her own stuff, but she really needs to write about something new, and not just this love and romance crap. Because the way she writes about all the lovey-dovey stuff, it's so juvenile. And I swear, every time I hear, I can feel my IQ dropping several points. :redangry:

Julianne Hough isn't country. Taylor Swift isn't country. Miley Cyrus isn't country. Carrie Underwood isn't country. They're "pop-country" or "new country", and the sound is very much a "take it or leave it" proposition to most people who like the more traditional country (think Reba McIntire, LeAnn Womack or Gretchen Wilson).

I think it's more because of her dad Billy Ray than anything else, but a couple of her songs get heavy rotation on the local country stations.

Swift's lyrics are silly, but I find her voice pretty. And, well, her face, but that goes without saying.

Sucks to hear she's such a bastard though.

She was actually like sixteen when she debuted, her first single being Tim McGraw, not Teardrops on My Guitar.
