When it comes to something as big as just how beyond fucked-up China is, yeah. They have this very carefully cultivated image of being an "almost-free," progressive country, but really, they're just a third-world shithole that treats its people like a resource to be spent anyway the Party bigwigs see fit. And then we've got people from all over the world taking their God damned honeymoons over there to see Beijing and everything they've polished to a mirror shine to convince the world how developed and modern they are. They diverted irrigation water from the surrounding countryside to make sure there was plenty to keep all the flowers in Beijing watered, devastating the local agriculture in lieu of grabbing a few more million dollars in tourism. They have mobile execution chambers, busses set up to administer lethal injections on-site. Their population control methods are barbaric, and have resulted in more than just child abandonment and murder. There are "orphanages" where a sickly, crying baby will just simply be shut in a room for a few days until the crying stops and they can toss the body.

But hey, as long as the rest of the world has a steady supply of cheap, lead-encrusted rubber dogshit, who are we to judge?
