LOL Godot would get sooo woobified In fact I could see her woobifying/lionising Godot up until the final stages of 3-5 and then screaming at her DS "NO NO THAT'S NOT TRUE HOW DARE YOU" and then storming off to write a What Really Happened version.

Wouldn't surviving a Cori Falls fic just involve leaving your brain at the door? :wooper: ...good point! :roflmao:

I think it's some combination of the two. Her ego is massive when it comes to her writing and characterization, but her confidence in herself as a person is obviously lacking, hence her living vicariously through fictional characters.

I mean, there's your usual batshittery like Snape's Wives and their ilk, but then there's a woman in her 30s who acts like she's still 15 years old overĀ fandom to the point where it completely saturates her fics. It's almost like she's re-writing her own life and altering any unpleasantness so that she comes out on top and whoever gave her a bad time is shown up to be a fat ugly loser of a retard with bad personal hygeine.

You're right about how fascinating she is. I told my psychologist about Cori a while ago, and she was just as amazed as any Cori newb at how crazy a 30-something-year-old can get about fandom. She outright said that something about that kind of extreme behavior isn't right. Honeslty, Cori's batshittery was so epic it tainted Rocketshipping's name for several years (Pokemopolis is probably still going on about Rocketshippers being a bunch of dirty, dirty liars, I haven't visited ever since Harley appeared and they stopped being funny). I'm not sure I've ever seen a BNF having such a strong effect on an entire fandom's view of a single group, one that didn't even like that BNF's fanfiction in the first place.

I remember when I was actively involved in the fandom back in the old days, when the "worst" of Rocketshippy fanfic was just melodramatic and sappy and had a fetish for putting Jessie and James in dire situations (Eyes Through The Soul, this unnamed fic where Jessie landed in a coma while pregnant with James's child, Rocket Princess, Goodbye, Fall From Grace). Years later I found out about Cori, and now all of that other stuff seems so tame in terms of badness.

Cori's fics started out as regular sappy badfics and gradually became her soapboxes. Her utterly batshit and frightening soapboxes.

| Wow...just wow. I happen to know of a few crapthors on ff.net who have this kind of delusion. Most of them are either in Transformers or Harry Potter and love to paint the bad guys as misunderstood sweet hearts who just need a shoulder to cry on and a good lay.
Seriously...Voldemort does not need a good lay. He's half dead anyway, I doubt 'it' is still there.

Hell, even at fifteen that level of batshit isn't exactly healthy, but at least at that point the person has a chance to overcome it with age. Cori's case sounds like she has some other kind of mental condition she never got treated for. (Maybe that's the case and also the reason the mentally ill don't get treatment in her world, because her parents didn't believe in therapy.) Yep. Soppy R*cketshipping was par for the course, just like melodramatic AAML and New Trainer fics.

| Live!!! LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!! *cough* Now then. I revived this topic because a WrongRocketshipper (I didn't think they still exist, Rocketshippers don't do sects anymore) who shares my deep loathing for Cori Falls pointed out to me that she was probably a Severus Snape fan. Judging by this exchange from A Fair Fight... - Cori Falls wrote:
- (JJ&M, their Sue and Stu friends and poor Mondo and Gary are playing D&D with Ash so they can bully him with the power of geek. James' character is Severus Blackthorn, a human wizard.)
Cairdea nodded approvingly when she heard the names. "I see you named your character after Professor Snape from Harry Potter, James."
James smiled. "Of course! Snape is one of my favorite characters!"
"Mine, too," Cairdea agreed. And Cairdea is the Cori self-insert for her Pokemon fics, isn't she? So she was a Snape apologist and the Deathly Hallows AU she never published was probably going to be a Snapefic where he's a perfect angel that gets to live because he's better than all of you. And Harry and the Marauders would probably be considered ninnyheads. And he probably would've gotten some auburn-haired beauty as a reward for his apparent amazingness because Cori is predictable like that. I'm almost disappointed. Maybe Cori quit the Internet because she realized she's not a special snowflake in the Harry Potter fandom, where 99% of everyone is crazy and Snapewives are at the top of the crazy food chain (with the Harmonians, bless their bitter nutfuck souls).

| Hey, even if Cairdea hadn't been one of Cori's self-inserts, I think we could take it for granted that her comments were Cori's heartfelt opinions. I mean, when was the last time we saw a Cori-fic where anyone got to say anything that even slightly disagreed with the author's opinions and wasn't a fat, evil loser with horrible personal hygiene?
I'm actually slightly sorry we probably won't get to read Harry Potter, Cori Falls-style. Yes, it'd probably not be as standout-- the HP fandom is full of authors who woobify Snape and/or write long author's notes about what a terrible author J.K. Rowling is and how she obviously doesn't understand her characters/world as well as the fanfic authors do -- but still, it'd be interesting to see if Cori Falls would be able to refrain from her usual stream of pop culture/anime references, or if she'd conveniently point to Snape's half-blood status and "having grown up in the Muggle world" as excuses for letting ol' Severus have a huge Pokemon poster in his office, with Pikachu's face blasted off by a curse?
Or hey, maybe she'd take advantage of the "intelligent pictures" thing and have Snape's office littered with talking pictures of Team Rocket, Rex Raptor, and every single character Cori Falls likes, who all spend most their time gushing about how awesome Snape is, breaking down in tears because of how terrible his childhood was, and laughing at the stories he tells of humiliating defeats of the HP characters Cori doesn't like?

I have the sinking feeling Cori could manage to shoehorn her favorite pop culture into ANY fandom she ever wrote for. All it'd take was some creative re-imagining. Pokemon in the Fire Emblem world would be some sort of fairytale urban legend thing about brave heroes Lady Jessica and Lord James who battled the evil Ashford of Ketchumnoobershine over the territory of Pikashire, the Avatar rendition of Stabbing Westward would be the lyrics to, say "So Far Away" as one of Zuko's poems that Iroh composed a melody for on the Tsungi horn, Dungeons and Dragons in the Mario fandom would be Pipes and Yoshis, etc.

| Per Tv Tropes (I know, I know) she apparently moved on the the Yugioh fandom for a while, and then closed the site she'd made for THAT, too.

Oh, and here's something interesting, apparently at least one author had enough of her shit and decided to write a total deconstruction of her fics:
